J2Racing
I have a customer looking for a bolt on brake upgrade for his 1983 MS112 crown. He is aware it will involve a cert as he is fitting a 1JZGE Yes I am using this as a reason to be on old school while at work.

Spencer
It should have vented discs already? should be plenty for a NA 1JZ??? People steal the front and rear disc brakes from these for older crowns. I have seen people swap old 50/60/80 series crown solid disc front ends to Holden HQ gear but its a pretty shitty upgrade.
Spencer
Its a pretty standard double wishbone stub axle arrangement, you could build caliper brackets for near anything you want once you find a disc you want that works on the standard hub/stub. KKtrips
Disc brake rear end and appropriate master cylinder would probably be sufficient upgrade.
Spencer
Depending on the model most of these had disc rears already K-tripper. Most likely it has vented fronts and disc rear, these some of the best factory crown brakes that exist (something like 250mm vented fronts), they are similar all the way into the 2000's and not that much bigger/different for factory 1UZ and 2JZ crowns.
KKtrips
For reference, I have 290mm vented front rotors and 280mm solid rear rotors on the Commy with similar HP to an NA 1JZ - probably weighs the same as a Crown and it pulls up pretty reasonably. Bluebear01
Lol small world J2Racing, I think it was me you were hunting out brake info for . Thats some really helpful info, thanks guys! It's getting a 1uz, but it's good to know the factory brakes may cut it. She is running drum rears, but i have a disk rear end to pop in. The fronts are vented, but I do remember seeing some slotted rotors to suit a ms112 on trade me a wee while back. Might not be worth it though? Seedy Al
@Bluebear01 Hey man. I some how missed this thread, but to let you know my ms112 with a 2jzge passed cert with the factory brake setup and they actually work really well. I had an emergency stop and went for a drive over a 30km hill road and had zero issues what so ever.
