malarky
Soo, I'm wanting something to eat away rusty bits before I can weld in new metal, will this be any good for several patches and then selling/passing off http://mytools.co.nz/products/sandblaster-kit I guess it's a step up from those handheld Supercheap doodads but is it up to the job? Bling
Are you talking about on a chassis or something you can't put in a booth? I had a supercheap handheld gun in a cabinet, never had any issues with it. IT was just a basic pistol + suction pipe setup. If you're doing it outside, then you'll want to have some respirator half mask or similar if using sand. I had some pink garnet in my cabinet as I don't think it's as bad for you as sand. But it was a sealed booth, so don't take my word on that. tl;dr even basic sandblast tools work, it's just sand blown by air after all. Mickey
If you want a quality but basic unit then Syntech do one that's just a gun with a hose. You put the end of the hose into your bucket of garnet and sand away. I wouldn't go anywhere near using normal sand for blasting due to the dangers of silicosis. More info here: https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/docs/92-102/ Use garnet which Syntech can supply you also. Comes in sacks in 3 different grades if I remember correctly. Let them know what you're doing and they can advise you on the correct grade. http://www.syntechnz.com/
