M M
The Mk1's a 1980 2 door, non sunroof, small tailight with early dash. Just a standard 1.5 diesel. I haven't done anything with it yet (in fact I haven't even picked it up yet, my friend with the diesel has been storing it for me as I bought it off him). It's a decent, pretty much no rust body so I didn't want to miss out on it, especially being an early spec one.
tedmunds
think im right in saying the small light ones are swallowtails, best ones man. Diesel aswell, what more could you want

The swallowtails are the very early ones, I think up to 76, and then they had small tail light non swallowtail. This is the difference: Swallowtail Non Swallowtail See how there is a curve under the lights whereas on the non swallowtail one there isn't? In my opinion the difference is so small that it's not worth specifically chasing a swallowtail, but cool if you have one. Mine is a 1980 so it isn't. fortis
Nice conversion, did you have to fabricate the mounts?
M M
Thanks. Do you mean engine mounts? If so then no, Mk2 and Mk3 (as I used here) bolt up to the engine/gearbox and car.

M M
Is it just me or is the I/C and rad on the piss? Not just you, they're on the piss. From factory the radiator mounts on an angle so I just worked with it.
PedRac3r
Oh right. It all looks pretty good though, will be interesting to see how it goes once its all sorted.
M M
Oh right. It all looks pretty good though, will be interesting to see how it goes once its all sorted. Thanks. It should be making around 190hp and around 280nm once the tune is flashed onto the ecu. Should be good fun. Decided to go with the Mk4 DBW pedal as I found out today that the one I have on the pedal box won't work with the ECU for this motor, so asked my friend to weld a bracket on for me. Will post pictures tomorrow. Downpipe is also almost done so pictures to come of that as well.

M M
Duuuude. Did you use the digi fuel pump? I swapped in the mk3 tank and used the mk3 pump setup but the Mk2 digifant one should work.
CUL8R
What's so special about those wheels? You should've let me sandblast them, would've saved you hours of work lol! Should look much nicer on the car once you're done polishing them IMO
