NVMPAJ
Our 99 Galant broke its cambelt the other day . Installed a new one , but I'm thinking there's a bent valve or even piston damage , has the miss from hell now, The motor is a 4G63 ( I think ) SOHC , not sure weather it's non interference or not . So she's going on TM , goodlittle car , WOF , reg , good tyres . Be good to know if it's an easy fix , so any potential owner can make an informed decision

NVMPAJ
Yeah , I found a few conflicting write ups , I think at low speed a broken belt is okay , but the wife was on the motorway so I reckon it's toast
Seedy Al
yeah as far as I know they are interference. Un lucky buddy
sr1600
Compression test should be fine. When the cambelt snaps the pistons tend to close any open valves pretty quick. Sorry for your loss
