BattleSnayke
Or find a AE86 or TE71 tank and bolt that in This is what I was leaning toward since I'm so virgin/useless.
ryanfels
Ae86 has an internal pump. TE71 has an external pump but the tank is baffled to suit EFI engines. They usually go for about $
BattleSnayke
Cheers. If anyone knows of such a tank for sale, let me know xoxo
peteretep
someone tell me about running an external efi fuel pump, I could fit one with an inlet at maybe 25mm off the bottom of the fuel tank, which is a vertical shape rather than a flat shape i mean there are plenty around on offer, so whats wrong with using one if its mounted down low
peteretep
fuel pump & filter at top right
Rookie
The problem with gerotor pumps is that they don't like sucking, if you put a new fitting in the tank where it it had no up hill flow then it would be fine. I think in your case, you are going to have heaps of fuel so I wouldn't worry, just chuck a $50 special on there and see if it works, it probably will, it might take a little longer to prime, but I would think it will be ok. If not then just a surge tank at a later date.
peteretep
OK, I think I understand what I am getting myself into. ill mount it similar to the picture above, mostly because its quickest and easiest, if I get problems I can always change it
kpr
long as your pump is lower than the tank will be fine. going up then down will just make it a pain in the ass to prime. but once its primed will be fine. just dont run out of gas.
