unhuman
I am looking at running radiator hose as braided line with -AN fittings due to how close it is to the turbos exhaust housing. The problem is that the radiator is made from copper. Does anyone know if it’s possible to source weld (braze) on fittings / tube that have a -AN thread in copper? Dell'orto
Could you not just use a braided hose with hose finishers? They're a lot more available!
evil_si
Have never seen them in copper, but you could always have an engineer machine some up
My name is Russell
Interesting idea. Would the rubber behind the braid still melt? Or would the shield spread the heat? Should be fine if not directly touching i guess. Since its just low pressure could just clamp with normal hose clamps at ends? don't know how you would make it look nice. With AN you would need one and to be able to swivel I'm guessing external water pump wouldn't help in any way
Escort Engineering
You could get a machine shop to make some AN- fittings out of brass i only say brass because it is cheaper and easier to machine then copper, then maybe you can get your local radiator shop to solder them to your header tanks, I hope this is of help . unhuman
I didn't know brass could be worked with copper, thanks. Will try asking around some machine shops for threaded tube with -AN thread in brass, thanks everyone.
unhuman
Following this up to add to the search base. So turns out you can braze steel to copper, which I wasn't aware of. Hurrdurr. Thus I simply brought some steel weld on fittings and had them brazed on. Job done.
