driveshaft/universal joint/yoke help

will i am

Recommended Posts

putting a starion motor and box into my ex lancer

have a driveshaft that came off a sigma that had the starion motor/box in it (starion yoke)

also have the original ex lancer driveshaft

figured if i change the yoke over it would be straight forward

problem i have run into is the starion yoke is wider than the lancer one

i have thought off a few ways to get around my problem

1 find a universal joint to suit

2 shorten the sigma driveshaft to suit (approx 100mm to long)

has anyone else run into this problem? or have a solution

thanks

you can get ujs that are wider on one of the crosses...

we use them at work all the time, my tech terms got left at work...

but basically it would fit the one small to one large..

take the driveshaft and the yoke you wanna use to a driveline shop and see if they have an off the shelf uj thatll work.

if not it would be easier to shorten the drivehsaft..
