My name is Russell
Goes Sweet! Mk1Mad / Nick, oldnrusty / Hayhole and I took it a decent way around red rocks, could have made it to Cable bay no worries. Only real thing that could do with so tinkering is looking at why the clutch is so heavy / sticky. Keen on getting a road going one now so much fun to drive
oldnrusty
Yeah this thing rules my face! haha good fun, only just got feeling back in my face after no roof or front windscreen and southerly rain!
Beaver
Only real thing that could do with so tinkering is looking at why the clutch is so heavy / sticky. the few ive had experience with have all had heavy clutches. got quite used to using the styeerign wheel as support while trying to jump on the clutch
My name is Russell
This clutch doesnt return for ages either, you have to wait 5 seconds after taking your foot of the clutch and you start moving (slow return)? Which makes double clutching imposible. Will check condition of slave and laster cylinder once i give it a water blast to find it under the greese
Beaver
ah yeh that doenst sound ideal. mate in CHCH had a series 1 with the holden 186 in it and discovry?/some big rover diffs in it. was so sweet.
KKtrips
You might find the pressure plate is poo - the springs on the pressure plate should be strong enough to push the clutch pedal back quickly - unless the clutch hydraulics are that stiff... Most probably pay to fully rekit clutch and brake hydraulics anyway.. How long had it been sitting for?
My name is Russell
Yeah true, will start by looking at master and slave and go from there. If its as hard to return as it is to engage due to one of the cylinders then im not supprised its slow for the pedal to return
Mk1Mad
No pictures sorry Chris. Stupid Samsung phone is crappy... Was mean fun around the rocks. Read up a bit on the clutch, should strip and clean hydralic system and grease pivot point between clutch pedal and master cylinder push rod. The pivot actually has a little plug in it to allow you to oil it. Probably all dried up tho. Keen to get into it once this rain is gone.... Mk1Mad
Yup, probably slave and/or master. I believe there is also a helper spring under the dash that pulls the pedal back too. These are well known for losing their springiness???? (is that a word....). http://www.paddockspares.com/ These guys look like they have everything you need, or do ebay.co.uk. Cheap as.
