Hi guys,

I noticed one of my rear shocks is weeping a bit.

They are able to be topped up, the Haynes manual says to use genuine "shock absorber fluid", there is no mention of grade etc..

Ok so where do you buy it? Repco dont supply it

I know I should replace it, however I am planning to replace the stupid dogleg rear shockies with telescoping units in the near(ish) future

-apparently it is one of the 5000mile checks for the car, I have not done it in 21 years

If they are Armstrong Lever Dampers (or similar) then we used to use fork oil back in 'the day'. Fork oil can be got from motorcycle shops.

Having said that, you might want to go to a slightly heavier oil for modern highway use.

I think the specified oil was something like 15w. You could probably put some modern engine oil or trans fluid in there and not notice the difference.
