i would start with wheels and lowering coz you can't really paint till you know your guards right to fit wheels with no rubbing

with out putting alot of money into it, it wont be a race car so look more at style, low with wide dished wheels guards massaged to fit and a nice exhaust and maybe a front chin lip

one of the other oldschool members did this one might give you a couple ideas

you don't need 5 stud unless your big power 4 stud is fine

man i miss my mk2 a lot 4 years put into it and takin away in like 10seconds

just take your time mate do it all right the first time so u dont have 2 redone things again ive done that alot.

Big thanks to Simon for fixing up my rusty boot wells

No worries man.

If the wof man fails you on rust in the bum end again this time I'll fix it for free.

ps. Your dads rum rules hahah!

Sweet man!

Ahh the joys of having a father who brews his own alcohol! So it should be after 20years of brewing!

FUUUUUCK. Okay someone help me out with the direction i should go in with this escort its doing my head in!

Option 1) Keep it original (Being a Ghia with all the rarer goodness the escort offered factory) Head says this.

Option 2) Take inspiration from the JDM os scene. Go all out ala mesh wheels, jam an SR20VE or 4AGE 20v. Heart says this.

Confusing shit i know but would like something thats different but dont want to sacrifice the originality and scarcity of the Ghia.

If me. I'd go option 1.5. Keep the original look etc but put in a modern power plant that could if desired be replaced with an original 1600 (sleeperish).

If it was me Zetec or Duratec it with Period style cam cover

And use shortend type 9 5 speed, english diff or atlas if you wanna do skids.

Eventually thats what ill do but with a Duratec.

Also get a set of these:

Compomotive turbos or Ronal's.

Zetec is definitely on the cards its just the availability of the parts which for the most part ill have to get from UK. First suggestion was jappa engines as parts are readily available here.

Oh and as for pinto decided to flag that as its been done to death and dont really want to waste a cert on it for a moderate power increase and no increase in fuel mileage. But its there if i change my mind.
