Hughsie
hey guys, was wondering if anyone here has had any issues with bp98 unleaded in an old car... i have a mk2 escort '79 and was told upon purchase a few weeks back that he ran it on 95 with the valvemaster. so yesterday pulled into bp realised they didn't have 95 so filled up with 98 instead, almost straight away she started running a bit rough. then this morning she wont start at all! also a few weeks back i tried 91 and she ran better than on the 95? could 98 actually stop it from starting like this? thanks guys H
KKtrips
I've had some problems running Gull 98 and some others have had problems with Mobil 98 - but that can most likely be put down to the Ethanol blend - which the BP does not have.. Ranter
Are you still using the valvemaster?? If so replace plugs and never use it again, it is crap. Back when the fuel switched I had an Escort that I used valvemaster in, it used to foul plugs weekly which I put down to poorly tuned side drafts. Stopped using the additive combined with a long open road trip and it never fouled a plug again.
