fuel
no, just find another 4G63. 4G93 doesn't have provision on the block to mount the RWD engine mounts to, plus it's just a gay motor fullstop.
Ogre
4g93 isnt bolt in. Try this, tis simple! http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/search.php?keywords=4g63+ex+lancer&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search
bubblegoose
do a +t on an N/A motor and drop the boost a little save millions a
fuel
some people get upwards of 20psi out of a +t 4G63, the rods, crank, head, oil pump etc are the same it's just the lack of piston oil squirters (some people remove them on turbo motors anyway), lower compression pistons and different cams (which can be swapped over from a VR-4/evo)
bubblegoose
high compression turbo the future
fuel
most N/A 4G63s are about 9.1:1 so not too much on the high side, you wouldn't want to do it to the 10.4:1 version though.
bubblegoose
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 422204.htm job done case closed game over also 9:1 fine for turban, wern't some mid model evos around this figure?
fuel
that's a SOHC engine in that Galant, plus it is a 7 bolt motor so extra gay for putting in place of a 6 bolt engine. yep late model evos are around 8.5-9:
jessewright
shit anyone gota spare just laying round ready to go hahaha i think ive done the bottom end in it i know is a good head and has racing valves and shit so i could still use that
fuel
I have a good DASH 3x2 bottom end sitting around but you would need to change things like the oil housing and water pump to run DOHC head. The pistons are already the same as the VR-4 pistons.
infinite
its piss easy to put a 7bolt into rwd. just grab a evo flywheel and chuck a 4g32 ring gear onto it and it will line up with the starter.
jessewright
i just startd it and its spewing out oil from the balance shaft tensioner any ideas
fuel
pull the bolt out, clean it up along with the bolt thread, apply silicone to the thread of the bolt, refit, let dry, and try again.
jessewright
if only man the crunchig metal noise isnt good either haha i might rip the motor out tomorrow and stip the bottom end and post some pics
76lancer
Noise might just be balance shaft bearings. Mine went and made some bad noises. Just get rid of balance shaft and silicone the bolt
jessewright
the balance shaft cog is that little wee one right? cause if so shes pretty sloged out haha i can freely moove it
76lancer
Yeah it has a seperate small belt behind the cambelt off the crank. You should be able to spin it easy if the belts not on. Shouldn't have any other movement. Its pretty common to root the bearings for them. Do a search on google or something, it's pretty easy to take it out. forgdpiston
4G93 doesn't have provision on the block to mount the RWD engine mounts What about the Pajero IO they have 4g93.
OSM Garage
Seems like they are north/south Wonder how they are mounted. Who knows if these are interchangeable with older 4g93 bits (like head to ditch GDI, and if crank designs have changed along the way - like the 4g63 6 bolt did with the 7 bolt) But like Fuel has said, they arent that great of an engine.
