thegreatestben
Any chaps here in wellington with the ability to insert a helicoil? Two of my exhaust studs have had them installed previously and they've shat themselves. In the process of putting new studs in. Motor's out and on a stand so no in car monkey business. Would be great if you could come to me, I'm in Lower Hutt. Can make payment in whatever form you see fit (within reason) Cheers

Hemi
so the helicoils have failed?? piece of piss mate . what thread size? .
thegreatestben
Yeah I pulled all the old studs out as most of them came with the nuts attached. Got new studs, one has definitely had a helicoil, probably should do one other just to be on the safe side.
Hemi
pm me your # i can rock round and do it tomoz. how deep is the thread into the head?? , any ideas as to why it failed??. just keen to know so it dont happen again .
thegreatestben
Can't really detail how it happened. All I did is take the nuts off but most of them seized half way along the stud. The stud's all came out, one has no thread left, the other goes in but just spins. Just need them to go in once and stay in there (others have loctite stud locker on them)
