eskymsport
I have just picked up a beach buggy that i need to rebuild. the motor and front end is escort, but the rear end has me confused. the diff head is missing so i am trying to identify housing as it has no markings. it is an 8 bolt mounting for the diff head (like escort but about 5mm smaller), it has 114 x 4 pcd axles (jap), it has an A arm bottom link and angled top link with coil springs. any ideas what it might be

fuel
this is a Hilux diff but its mounted in an EX Lancer, just showing how Sigma/Lancer diffs are mounted (courtesy of Ke36)
Spencer
Starlet? your going to need some pics or measurements to narrow it down I'd say
eskymsport
you look to be right about the EX lancer mounts, have since found pics on the net and it looks right. since i need the diff head and the housing is pretty rusty, i might as well replace the whole lot. is there any difference between 8 and 10 bolt diffs. what do these diff come out in, is it only ex lancer and sigma
fuel
10 bolt diffs are in EX Lancer turbos or some Sigmas. I think the 2L Sigmas are 10 bolt, I know the wagons are at least. The rest is 8 bolt.
RUNAMUCK
Cuold be a B310 sunny diff?
drftnmaz
measureing the width might narrow it down... but ke70,kp60, ae86 etc all have the similiar type of design to what you have mentioned and all 4x114.3 maybe even a axel spline count and dia
Spencer
^ ke70 & ae86 have straight top arms and a panhard rod, KP's have the top arms angled. But yea measurements will sort things out
fuel
ke70/ae86 have parallel 4 link setup with panhard rod, rather than A arm bottom and triangulated top arms with no panhard rod that he has described. *edit* spencer beat me to it
eskymsport
axle spline count is 22, diameter 24mm. housing length 1290mm flange to flange (no axles or brakes)
eskymsport
are the sigma and ex lancer housings the same
