mx_freak69
Wanting to know if the Ford EDIS-4 ignition system is/was used on anything in NZ? All I've been able to find on the enet is either euro or american. Heard a whisper that Mondeo's used the same system? Any info would be good. Cheers. Brock-Lee
Bring it in from the US or from aus. its not worth trying to find that needle in the haystack. What car is it being adapted to? do you have an electronic dizzy?
mx_freak69
using a megajolt. tis for a blow through carb setup on pinto
Brock-Lee
megajolt can take an input from a locked dizzy. Or do what I did and adapt a cam angle sensor to drive off the dizzy shaft. etc EDIT: I know it aint pretty but it'll work
mx_freak69
megajolt can take an input from a locked dizzy. I assume you are talking elec. dizzy? The EDIS system seems to be the balls for what I'm wanting to do. Have you had a fair amount of experience with megajolt?
Burntrubber
Seems like alot of effort for carb turbo setup. I think you'll find after awhile that spark control is not where you have issues with a carbi turbo setup.
Brock-Lee
it can take a signal from a points setup but its balls as shit. surely there are elec dizzy upgrades out there for pintos. I was gonna build up a carb turbo but am now going for injection. If you are out to just do a dirty carby turbo setup then imo fuck ign control. lock the dizzy and wind up the boost
peteretep
it shouldnt matter what type of dizzy it is if you are only using the rotating shaft to drive something else, trigger wheel or cas etc, probably easier to use the standard trigger wheel thing on the crank though
Brock-Lee
lol yeh, but if you are using the points signal to trigger the megajolt thats lame. if you were gonna do that id say adapt a CAS to it. but if you have a electronic dizzy then id just use the signal directly from that. capice? peteretep
yeah same page, i want to do this for my car once its running, i'll think i'll use the trigger wheel on the crank pulley though and get rid of the dizzy all together for final ease
Brock-Lee
I rekon it looks pants with the VR sensor sticking out the front. you should just roll a leone locked elec unit and make a wee little stainless cap instead of a dizzy cap. doit. I would if I hadnt sold my elec ignition to some fag
peteretep
lol you didnt sell your leone distributor to me by chance? haha, i bought mine from down near chch i'll see when the time comes, it would be great if i could not have a dizzy nor a thing on the front, i'll measure pushrod locations or something
