    Ford EDIS

Wanting to know if the Ford EDIS-4 ignition system is/was used on anything in NZ? All I've been able to find on the enet is either euro or american. Heard a whisper that Mondeo's used the same system? Any info would be good. Cheers.
  6. Tap out / tap in jobby then?
  7. Need new bearings for cam. They seem to be press fit. Had a yarn to one of the guys at work whom used to work on formula ford stuff and he said that replacing wasn't really something you did at home / yourself unless you're pretty skilled in that area. So what's the story? Place bets now!
  8. Rust, never sleeps. Darn it. Ah well. Such is Oldschool.
  9. ^^^ Sounds ideal! Rough idea of cost? E-net deal or are there stores in NZ?
  10. As long as the whole carb is working at the same pressure (ie. use of pressure box) should the system, venturis etc not all operate the same? Similar effect to driving at altitude but reversed i would have thought?
  11. Have been reading up on this megajolt ignition buisness. Anyone had much experience with it? Says on their site that it is run off the crank, but I'm thinking a Sierra elec. dizzy would do the same job? Looks pretty ideal for what I'm wanting to do. Thoughts/opinions...
  12. Std jets? 1mm drill bit to 2ndrys? Any issues with needle and seats under pressure?
  13. Pretty much. Just taking away centrifugal weights and vac. advance. Had thought of going ECU direction but not so keen on that. Still wanting all ideas/opinions tho!
  14. ^^ = sweet idea. Was just guna fill with expanding foam type dealeyo
  15. Yea fairly sorted on pressurebox. Uncertain if floats will be crushed under pressure tho? Eskin8r, hav pm'd ye
  16. Yeap spent many hours browsing the enet for facts. Cant find anything of value. Not keen on drawthru due to lack of i/c, bov etc. Got plenty of time to fark around with tuning so 0 drama on that aspect.
  17. Light vehicles tis 20% max imbalance. Agree with scuffage of pads if disc rear. If drum, scuff shoes and drum friction surface and swap drums side to side. Too easy.
  18. Yuh so in the throws of churbroing a 2L pinto, carburetted. Using a 32/36 DGV. Just wanting info if anyone has done this, what jet sizes they used, I/C options, fuel pressure regulators etc. Not doing EFI. NOT. Don't care how much better and more amazing it may be, not doing it . Any ideas, throw them out there. Unless its EFI!
  19. Some years later, motivation returned. Blowthru churbro is new plan. Watch this space.
  20. ^^ True that. Definitely worth taking it off and bench bleeding then refitting to veh.
  21. Can use off the shelf cortina mounts. They're pretty large and look odd though..
  22. should fit between strut towers etc? not so keen on extreme fabrication mods

    Escort v6

Hey all. Wondering if anyone has tried/failed putting a buick/holden 3.8L V6 into an escort? I'm unsure if it will fit in or not without uber modification to firewall etc.
  24. Not turning over at all aye. Solenoid just clicking. I got that 35mm shit from boc. Tis aws. Sweet will change earth and see how it goes
  25. Have put battery in boot of my car. Cable etc is sweet. No voltage/current drop along cabling, but battery wont turn starter over. If using same battery but jumper leads str8 on2 the starter motor, it starts sweet. any ideas?
