Mick Doohan
well i bought a hilux off the diddy who aquired it off the mighty E i was a very unhappy lux its specs were a shit cab with rust and oxidised paint a 3y that leaked oil faster than i could put it in and with a small end knock and a shitarse deck with rotten wood and fucken shit brakes but ...it was a beam axel manuel 4wd truck so it had to have some potential insert shit piccy here so i threw on some wheels i had here and gave the cab a cut and polish (hence why its called the failux)\ gave it some 40-70 motor oil to stop it leaking.....it worked suprisingly well it looked a bit tidier but fuck me it was still shit the plan was to stick a 1uz all up in its grill and some bigarse 4wd wheels so i got some 15 x 10 steels off trademe and chucked on the tyres i already had put aside for the marvie 33 x 12.5 x 15 perelli mud's i also lifted the body 75mm to clear the tires the next weekend come the misson to put in the uz spencer and 10/5 had the wiring to sort i had the engine /new fuel tank/ mounts / battery box / exhaust / radiator to sort/finish the flywheel so i started at 6pm friday night ... ripped out the motor and tidyed up the engine bay in preperation went back to the lockup got diddy and the engine and they did wiring while i sorted the flywheel bell etc once that was sorted the engine went into the engine bay and the mounts were made and the cab removed so that i could do the exhaust mount the fuel lines and diddy the battery cable then the chassis got a squirt of paint cab back on and wiring comenced and radiator installed then battery mount then new efi tank the drove it home on sunday night @ about 11 pm here are a shitpile of pics half a lift all of a lift rusty body crush tube bolt i made the new steerring pins from .. just so i have evidence of material used extened pins and stock pin again pile of bits bit of 65 mm stock then there were 6 cnc making my fly tyres on rims yay before tyre change while a uz sits in my garage ... a little ute waits so here is the current job love this piccy was tempted to reverse up on flatmates car:D oh look at that bit on the tray ... could it be some new bracing you can see where i started to weld in new patches and then realised... this is fucken stupid.. just fix it the corner sectons are from a ms65 and just grafted them in there fuck i wish i could drive it like that rust has rotted out the roof so badly that the supporting ribs and support structure is fucked as well this is looking down thats not the roof skin ... thats the a pillar reinforcoing and this is look up at the piccy before last arh well least teh first guard is primed ready to get some white stuff on it bare metaled every panel then etched both sides then 2 pac primer/filler both sides... will flick color on both sides as well IMO the better the seal coat the longer it will last and there is a new roof skin ... over night parts from japan ... fuck i feel JDM as fuck now last night on my way out a mates then cam belt broke ....... lucky there a non interferance motor so 200 bucka later for a cambelt, tensioner and 2 idlers + 4 hours of work we are running again not to bad for modified vehical serviceability still a bit more to go but ive come a long way with it now for some winch bar making ... till i mount it under the tray mk1 the mad update Coon conversion pic's
