Manda
How does sound dampening mat compare to dynamat. Price wise it is quite different. But does it work the same? Anyone tried it? Im looking at putting it on my firewall. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =219192809 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =219316855
Yowzer
Probably won't be as good as dynamat but will still be a lot better than nothing at all
kyteler
Fuck that, just another place for moisture to gather etc. Roll carpetless and enjoy the sound of the road.

kyteler
I've never had carpets or mats in the C110. Road-noise is all part of the fun with an old car. Maybe that's just me though?
Manda
Im not tryna dampen road noise....Tryna dampen the noisy carbs!!
Unclejake
Another option is a Bostik product (self adhesive) called Panelbeaters Sound Deadening. It is a quality product but heavy and needs to softened with a heat gun to get the best fit. Here is it on my Mercedes firewall. You can see where we formed it around the raised steel pressing between the heater hoses

Unclejake
No mate. I lost interest in it but I expect to find some passion in the next decade or so
