3.8v6 Series 3 & manual conversion??

Righto,

At this stage Im pricing up my next project.. plans would be series 3 3.8v6 (Commodore)

& Convert to manual..

I know a few of you have done a this conversion, so whats the guts?

After talking to some people the series 3 is the best of the lot to go for..

So Im looking at buying a Vs with the series 3 motor, or buy as a complete motor with ancillaries (loom, coil packs, ecu etc etc)

Would then have to source a T5 gearbox from a VN-VP (most common that I can find readily available).. I've heard some motors are 6 bolt & others 8 bolt ?? True/false & what identifies either type?

Apart from the box & tailshaft itself, what else do I need ?(note this wont be going into a commodore)

Any advice/information appreciate thanks..

the earlier engines have different crank bolt pattern between the auto and manual engines. when bro changed to manual in his ute it was cheaper to buy a manual engine rather than convert the auto one (custom flywheel etc.) dont know if the later ones are the same or what.
