escorted
How hard is it to get the Grit/sand out of nooks and crannys?
Mr.Mk1
Not impossible, but you would need the car on a spit, roll it round and round blowing air into every seam, if not cutting inspection holes in, then cavity wax the pants out of it and paint EVERY part of the car. Still wont get it all though
My name is Russell
Haha thats my old escort, don't think i sold it that to long ago, sold him the rear arches also. The guy was going to put a V8 in it, and i was going to put engine I'm putting in yellow project car into it. actually may have not decided on engine at that stage. Are you in wellington? / What part?
My name is Russell
Also it has a welded diff ... the front and rear interior side trim has two different methods for removal The front is rivited on (you need to peel back the wood stick on trim to get to them) And the rear trim is clips that require popping off. As nick was just showing me last night
tregath
Yea i got it form wellington. The guy said he had a baby on the way so needed to get rid of toys. Im in Hawera, was awesome mission in work ute to go get it. Yea he said LSD but i could tell HAHA. Im possibly going to leave the trim on and use these doors. Mine is a early one and the doors are different. Early ones dont have stalks to lock them and the lock is in the door handle
My name is Russell
yup yup ... with the late mk1's its very easy to install central locking. Oh lol i picked the escort up from Hawera its returned to its home land. Good luck removing the doors the pins in them are a cunt!
Mk1Mad
Also it has a welded diff ... the front and rear interior side trim has two different methods for removal The front is rivited on (you need to peel back the wood stick on trim to get to them) And the rear trim is clips that require popping off. As nick was just showing me last night Front (Door) fake wood trim requires you to peal back the "wood" and then drill out the pop rivets. The "wood" is double sided taped onto the alloy backing. Rear fake wood trim requires you to reach up from underneath behind the panel and undo about 5 little nuts that hold it on. Nick
