Guest sexychevette
Guy at work has a 2L Duratec with a sierra 5speed in his escort. In a car like yours, you dont need alot of power to have fun. I say go for something twin cam, turboless and japanese. 4age,ca18de,sr20de etc
sholdowa
Go YB cossie. There's a rather tasty Zaks bodied one I've seen up at Ruapuna quite often. That engine should really be in a Mk.1 shell
Raizer
Since you've got a mk1 forget BDA, go Lotus twink! (If you can find one)
J2Racing
I havn't read all the postings on here but is this a race car or rally car. Seems like alot of money to spend om a road car.
peteretep
probably a tyre kicker, I think most young people look at this when they first get their escort when all the old people around them talk about the days of the bda etc etc
J2Racing
For sure I mean how driveable would a BDA be. I mean as an everyday car. I've been in the silly seat of one of the fastest in the country. Dean Buist from palmside. It was scary !
Gaz
Duratec is alot harder to put into an escort than a Zetec. Zetec would be my option if wanting to stay Ford.

I know the car my old boss Jeff clare ownes it. It is worth every dollar. Second most successful saloon car in NZ. Behind one of the PDL mustangs. For the record I don't think halliday built it pretty sure it was an Allan Maan. Also owned by Jim Richards .
