Rusted
I don't understand why 1.5 is bad and 1.9 is good?
fuel
Something to do with the angles of the rod and the speed of the piston as it reaches BDC and TDC. I'm sure there's some info about it in the FAQ section.

Rusted
So what does most of that mean? Long rod is better top end and short is better low-mid? Thats about all I got.
fuel
Yeah basically. Short rod engines are better for forced induction, and can generally have more agressive cam timing. My 2L V6 has a rod to stroke ratio of 1.81 and its quite rev happy but lacks torque down low.
SYKOV6
where as 4.1 falcons have the wrong rod/stroke ratio [not sure what it is] you can cam them to fuck, port the head, have 3 carbs and the wont make any more power after about 5000 rpm. they rev harder but dont make anymore power after that. but they respond great to forced induction and nos , go figure. fuel
Yeah sounds like the 4.1 has a low rod to stroke ratio, probably around 1.4~1.6. They have to have a long stroke as opposed to having a big bore to keep the length down, and also a short rod to keep the block height down as well.
