2.6 is a four bro. Also pretty much bolt in and the 2.3.

If you can find a twin cam Piazza you could use the 2.0 twin cam engine from that (+ the gear box)..

There are about 6 or so easy engine swaps for geminis, depending on the amount of work you want to do.

There seems to be a little bit more to fitting the 4Z range of engines over the G series. I thought they were similar aswell, but the fellas on ozgem soon corrected me on that view point. I'm not exactly sure how much more difficult it is, I didn't look into it because I don't like those engines :P

4Z range is the 4ZC1-t 2.0L Turbo Piazza, 4ZD1 2.3L Rodeo and 4ZE1 2.6L Rodeo, and as zep mentioned they are all 4 cyl.

The 2.3L slant four bedford motor is a gigantic cast lump of steel that was used in HS and HSR chevettes for rally purposes in the early 80's. It was competitive at the time but honestly. Lets not talk about that.

So best option is to find a 2L G200 from a wreckers a bolt that in. Or a G161 and give it a clean up and run mean cams and some sidies or something. Would probably go pretty well.

As said allready there are a few that bolt straight in I think the best would be the carbied G200z 2.0L Rodeo engine nothing to change at all to bolt one in. I have an injected Piazza 2.0L in one of my Geminis which took less than a day to fit and wire up the ECU so its not that much harder than a carbied engine I dont think.

lol. The hs/hsr 2.3 twincam was far removed from the sohc bedford engine on which it was based. The hs twincam 2.3(in standard form) made 200bhp at the flywheel! thats impressive even by todays standards. Showed those dirty escorts who was boss  The bedford engine will still go hard but they are shity leaky old pieces of crap. Theres a reason you see so many bedfords with holden 202s and the like.

Find yourself a piazza twincam or turbo and swap all the good shit over :P will even get a brake upgrade and an lsd if you find the right one
