Gaz
Yeah b2000or b1600 is tough also. Plus can get LSD if you try hard. haha
OSC
all da ford ppl i talk to told me i could go b2000 but sed its just as much effort and not quite as strong as a falcon or as easy to find
Gaz
yeah thats true. But itll be alot lighter. If I was you id what you have for now untill it blows. If your nice itll never blow.
OSC
i have a standard open 1300 escort diff and i only wanna do the drive train once and over engineer it plus wit a standy 1300 ive made my diff start whining
Gaz
Thats because you either dont have the power to spin both wheels at once or because you are shocking it. . I have a 1300 diff and its fine for many burnouts provided you spin both and dont labour it. But the drivetrain thing is a good point. OSC
it only does 1 wheel wonders all the time but the sticky 215s might not be helping i dno because mky mk1 1100 diff has done more skids then i can remember for about 3 years and its still sweet
Gaz
Yeah 1 wheelers kill diffs. So does doing a skid from grass or gravel onto road. Wide tyres single spinner kills diffs. Extra load in the car when popping a burnout kills diffs. Basically all of the above puts load onto the diff. The 1100 diff and the 1300 diff have the same insides apart from the teeth numbers. So they are both the same strength. Itll be luck that you havnt blown one over the other.
SYKOV6
best guess is shortened falcon lsd with 3.55 ratio [stock for ute] get the lsd reshimmed to tighten it and use good quality lsd oil. with your supercharged torque 3.55 would be sweet. 200rwkw out of a pinto is pretty ambitious good luck. any decent engineer should be able to shorten diff $400 sounds a little cheap but then uve got brakes to set up master cyl ,handbrake and other bits ive forgotten. i did this conversion on a mk2 esky sport with a p76 v8 in early 90s diff was bullet proof and we did heaps of skids

PintoPusher
im using l200 lsd, stockcar guys know all the ins and out of shortening and stud pattern changes, only thing is i wont be able to run disc brake rear... not fussed though, not running a big heavy engine so my stopping distances will be fine just running a vented front set up p.s lowmk2 your honda badge is the shiznik!!! lmao rofl
Hemi
yea diffs are usually sweet until u over spin the spiders (single spinners) or shock load (drop clutch to start burnout) even truck diffs go nato if u do that *unloaded tractor unit*

oldrx7
all da ford ppl i talk to told me i could go b2000 but sed its just as much effort and not quite as strong as a falcon or as easy to find b1600 and b2000 diff's are good, been told by diffs r us that they'll handle up till about 400HP before they'll start to struggle, my mates running a b1600 lsd rear end in his 13B turbo 323 ... has 310 HP and is handling it fine ... im pretty sure you can still buy brand new lsd heads from mazda too

CaMpylobacter
maybe not quaife lsd heads aren't too bad find an ae86 housing. lsd heads for them aren't badly priced either I don't think (TRD)
Gaz
All depends what budget your on really. Id say shortening a hilux or any of the above diffs to be cheaper and possiably stronger than buying a standard LSD in most cases. perhaps not as easy tho.
