hey guys, im considering this as a project...nothing is in the making yet and if anything gets underway it will be a longterm project probably, BUT i am interested in a few things... who here has done one of these, at the moment im thinking id prefer the sr20det, but what then why have people used c18det's? is it just a size thing? im sure ill have plenty of questions, im after experienced reccomendations.

I chose Ca18det for the following reasons - alot cheaper to buy, cheaper to rebuild a bit cheaper to mod to an extent, smaller. You cant get the same power but then how much do you want in a light car. You can still reliably get 300kw at the treads with the Ca. Also it is a rev engine which I thought was more suited to a small car.

The Sr would be a good engine if you wanted a tubbed drag car or maybe a circuit car. I dont think drivability would be as good as with the ca but that all depends on turbo size and cams i supose. Just the extra tourque i thought would cause alot of unneeded wheel spin.

anyting else..?

Is it just me or is that website a bastard to navigate around. Trying to read the old engine specs and it reloads to the new page every so seconds. Even with stop button pressed.

That was a few days ago when i read it. That engine in there would be an expensive one. Cant remember if i did or didnt say the turbo size its running? Any info there?

Hey hey dont change it just for me. I got it read in the end. Was just annoying as i was on dial up at the time and i had to keep going back pages. lol. Supose not many people care about the old engine tho right.

I was kinda looking for a full run down powerwise as you did each mod and the times etc with them but this is alot to ask. Am very interested as i have just brought a ca for my escort and am waiting on the funds to pull it down and rebuild it properly. (Am still unsure exactly where i want to go with this engine).

Also it might have been in the site but what turbo were/are you running?

ps. also just in general found the site hard to navigate around. hard to find what your looking for. In the end found it tho. I think it was partly because i was on dial up and getting pissed of at the slow modem.
