Muzzie
checked battery also charged it How longs it been sitting for?? Good chance you have fucked the battery if it's been left uncharged. Easy way to tell is witha multi meter, or flick the main beams on and shit the starter - the lights should stay on full and bright, if they dim out your battery is poked. Ned
did the work you did on it involve disconnecting things? like engine earth wire? starter motor wire? did you check the fuses? sorry if youve checked all these, but it would be handy if you wrote down what you have already checked... i take it its a manual? tow start it at 40k an hour that will get anything to work just make sure its not something silly like a pressure plate thats too big. also check if your engine hasnt seazed for some weird reason.... that could also be it... L0WMK2
whats the easiest way to try and check that by yourself? wouldnt you need 2 people one to turn key? also carby is making a kinda poof sound?
Guest escort_boy
sounds like ur dizzy is on hte wrong way or leads
kyteler
unless you can have number one lead with plug in it propped up close to an earthing point while you reach in to crank it over, you may have a bit of trouble on your own. Another option is to connect a wire to the starter terminal and one to the solenoid and then connect them while you're holding the plug on an earth, you will need some decent gloves though if you don't have a switch you can utilise. The "poof" is probably air escaping back out through the intake because it's not firing, and/or your timing is off.
L0WMK2
firing order is 1243, 1 being closest to radiator? in my manual it says number one lead is at 1oclock on dizzy and 234 are anticlockwise from number 1 but 1oclock is different from which way you look at it?
