Alfadog
I was just about to post this same topic!! The white one is GORRRRRRRRGEOUS. I love the shape of these cars, goes to show Mitsubishi actually could design cars at some stage in the past! Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. Now I'm going back to look at them again. jNINE
bit difficult to flick to Feilding!!! But I guess you can take many Freedom Air flights from Palmy and take back the one in primer bit by bit... (shell might be a bit tricky though) I bought the white one virtually as it is as my other half and I run a motorsport tyre business and compete in motorsport ourselves, and having so many cars lends little time to the resto project. So, therefore I thought - might as well buy one with most of the hard work done when the opportunity arose. I really wanted to restore the other one how I like, but I can still personalise the white one. The previous owner didn't have all the original parts which I have so I can add to it and make it even better that way. I also have new black carpet which will make a big difference. The 74 model which is being turned into a club motorsport car (which the red one is at the mo) took a bit hit in the rear at one stage and wasn't repaired 'quite right'. Although it looks good in that pic - the red one is riddled with cancer (speed rust) and past saving I'm afraid....

lofreq
cant believe you own all those! beautiful restored project! how does she drive? for the club events one being built up, what propulsion is she gonna see? tops!
jNINE
Restored one drives pretty average at the moment! It has really old hard crap tyres with 13 x 5.5 inch rims with a wheel alignment done with string with a bit of positive camber thrown in as well! Tyres howl like crazy around slight corners! Bought some 15 x 6 sigma turbo rims last night which have already been polished - just need to give them a bit of a tidy up, some good tyres, and a bit of a play with the lower control arms to get it handling well. Engine, although relatively new, sounds a bit pistony so we will probably chuck our 4G35 & running gear out of the red car in it. (yes - 4G35) At the mo the one being converted for club motorsport use has the 2L motor (it's a GSR). I think plans are to get a 2.6 block (magna here) with a canter head (because it has big ports and small combustion chamber) - that's what I've been told anyway - the boy is doing that one! jNINE
that car is mint...i'm so jealous .i'm going to have to pm you my email address so cou can send me heaps of pics! awwww... Yours is nice too... I like the simmons very very much I wish our GSR could like like that.... but alas... she's alsays destined to be a bit of a 'roughy'. The damn grille has one end broken off !!! I picked up a set of polished Globe Montego's (Sigma Turbo) rims last night for the White one. Have heaps of 15x7 & 15x8 rims but unless I fit flares they are a no go.... Guest redseven
Beautiful cars dude, got any more interior pics by chance? also you wouldnt happen to know anything about fitting a 4g63 into a colt 16L at all would you? The '71 is a stunning example, the rocker cover is nicely done also. Arnt you on cardomain?
lowlancer
Dude, heaps of guys on this site can tell you about fitting a 4G63, me included Love the GTOs, and get flares and put the 8" wide wheels on asap. Sigma turbo wheels (Pepper pot style?) are great and all, but ya can't beat width for toughness
jNINE
flares one day... maybe (like the red one which has 15 x 8 hotwires as well) the Montego's look like this.... $250 for a set of 5 which I thought was pretty good
lowlancer
Oh, nah not pepperpots, but I can vouch on those looking pron on Celestes at least, have a couple of pics on PSP
jNINE
ok.. I've seen the montego's on datto's too. Until I get around getting tyres will put some 14" sigma alloys I have on it. A friend has the pepperpots on his Starion. I just had the plain old steel rims on my celeste with chrome trims. It was a bright orange beasty with kinda fancy pinstriping - very very easy to get the back sliding out on!.

Alfadog
What's the go with the seats though?
jNINE
They retrimmed the centres with velour - looks much better in real life than in pics. I have original all-vinyl seats in another car - but I like the velour I think - much more practical for Qld weather! Originally they were fabric in this car but probably went daggy - another set I have has black & yellow fabric looking pretty second hand! jNINE
thanks ppls.. I can't wait to get new wheels on - 3 are already polished and just need a tidy up - but sanding all the ridges out of the last one is a bitch!
