  1. Yeah, I rearranged all my albums at photobucket which broke the links. you can see the pics at http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a159/janenenc/ There are albums for each GTO.
  2. lol wish our GSR looked like that though!! Still can't find a grille for it will look a million bucks with flares I reckon - I still have to order a set for ours from there FYI - my GTO is going into the panel shop next week to get the drivers door fixed properly (it was a bit wiggly after a poor repair)

    monroe vs kyb

KYB any day over Munroe. We sell both brands and Munroe have started cheapening their product using plastic valves etc. I have KYB in the rear of my commodore and GC Galant rally car.
  5. Spent the weekend stripping out the interior (great fun in 36 degree heat!) and installing new carpet & underlay and painting the dash and console black... much better Next thing to do is finishing polishing the Montego's I have for it and fit the lowering blocks & lowered springs also re-woodgrained and covered the hole that is way to small to fit any form of radio/stereo. Having a CD player mounted under the glovebox this friday. Also woodgrained the handbrake cover
  6. The flares on one of ours are smoothed over but we are having problems now where cracks are appearing where the bolts/rivets are even to the extent of a round section starting to come out
  7. They look like the factory bolt-on flares that came standard with the GSR if I am correct?
  8. thanks ppls.. I can't wait to get new wheels on - 3 are already polished and just need a tidy up - but sanding all the ridges out of the last one is a bitch!
  9. They retrimmed the centres with velour - looks much better in real life than in pics. I have original all-vinyl seats in another car - but I like the velour I think - much more practical for Qld weather! Originally they were fabric in this car but probably went daggy - another set I have has black & yellow fabric looking pretty second hand!
  10. Took a few more pics of the interior...
  11. ok.. I've seen the montego's on datto's too. Until I get around getting tyres will put some 14" sigma alloys I have on it. A friend has the pepperpots on his Starion. I just had the plain old steel rims on my celeste with chrome trims. It was a bright orange beasty with kinda fancy pinstriping - very very easy to get the back sliding out on!.
  12. flares one day... maybe (like the red one which has 15 x 8 hotwires as well) the Montego's look like this.... $250 for a set of 5 which I thought was pretty good
  13. I'll take some more - I only took those few quickly for insurance company I can't take the credit for the resto (although I wish I could)... but I'm gong to replace all of the bits that aren't quite right to make it even better. (chrome trim, grille etc)
  14. awwww... Yours is nice too... I like the simmons very very much I wish our GSR could like like that.... but alas... she's alsays destined to be a bit of a 'roughy'. The damn grille has one end broken off !!! I picked up a set of polished Globe Montego's (Sigma Turbo) rims last night for the White one. Have heaps of 15x7 & 15x8 rims but unless I fit flares they are a no go....
  15. better post the old commo as well...sheesh I need to buy a parking!
  16. Restored one drives pretty average at the moment! It has really old hard crap tyres with 13 x 5.5 inch rims with a wheel alignment done with string with a bit of positive camber thrown in as well! Tyres howl like crazy around slight corners! Bought some 15 x 6 sigma turbo rims last night which have already been polished - just need to give them a bit of a tidy up, some good tyres, and a bit of a play with the lower control arms to get it handling well. Engine, although relatively new, sounds a bit pistony so we will probably chuck our 4G35 & running gear out of the red car in it. (yes - 4G35) At the mo the one being converted for club motorsport use has the 2L motor (it's a GSR). I think plans are to get a 2.6 block (magna here) with a canter head (because it has big ports and small combustion chamber) - that's what I've been told anyway - the boy is doing that one!
  17. just saw you are down the coast Alfadog... I'm in Brisbane
  18. bit difficult to flick to Feilding!!! But I guess you can take many Freedom Air flights from Palmy and take back the one in primer bit by bit... (shell might be a bit tricky though) I bought the white one virtually as it is as my other half and I run a motorsport tyre business and compete in motorsport ourselves, and having so many cars lends little time to the resto project. So, therefore I thought - might as well buy one with most of the hard work done when the opportunity arose. I really wanted to restore the other one how I like, but I can still personalise the white one. The previous owner didn't have all the original parts which I have so I can add to it and make it even better that way. I also have new black carpet which will make a big difference. The 74 model which is being turned into a club motorsport car (which the red one is at the mo) took a bit hit in the rear at one stage and wasn't repaired 'quite right'. Although it looks good in that pic - the red one is riddled with cancer (speed rust) and past saving I'm afraid....
  19. I've also got some lowering blocks and lowered lovells springs to fit.. and am on the hunt for some wheels.... 15" sigma turbo maybe - or might go for minilites. Could put the jellybean mags on that are on the red car... but not sure if I like them really...?
  20. I've since changed the tallight lenses around the right way so that the red is to the outside.... actually the white GTO should have all red taillights - but they have been changed at some stage, probably due to the local authorities....
  21. Here are a few pics of my GTO's in Qld Australia - a 71 model in 'almost' pristine restored condition (there is always something that needs finishing or improving), a '72 that is destined to be the parts car, a 71 model that needs restoring and a 74 model (which I don't have pics of) which is just having a 'tidy up' and will be used for club motorsport events. Oh.. and the old rally car (aka. the fun machine) I'll probably sell the rolling shell/project soon to make space!
