RT
If you're talking about a DOHC from a Sierra Cosworth then Awesome! But if you're talking about the 8 valve Sierra engine...specs aren't flash.. 130+ BHP and over 140 lb ft at less than 3,000 revs. There's no aftermarket parts available to make em more powerful... not very tunable engines and to quote from classicford mag 'the best place for them is the bottom of the sea' Nobody know's much about them so it's will be a mystery if something go's wrong with it.. oh and it also won't bolt straight into your escort because they are totally different from the pinto. hope i hvn't put you off
Hemi
is that out of a sierra saphire cos i was servicing one of those and noticed it had a dohc injected 2ltr in it and was thinking the same thing about aftermarket parts and fitting etc
RT
yeah probably, they came out in limited later model sierras. The 4x4 Sapphire has a nice 2.8V6 in it. and the cossies of course! some later models have a nice injected pinto in them although ours were carbed. And somewhere in all this is the 8 valve dohc 2L.. rs2000escort
do you know if the sierra crossmember will fit or will it be easier just to change the mounts on my escort
RT
the sierra crossmember will definately not fit in your escort... if i havn't put you off yet perhaps i should try harder? it's not a good engine to put in your escort. They had many problems that were to do with lack of knowledge and maintence with those engines. For all the trouble you're facing putting one in your esky you could easily make a 1600 kent more powerful... or a pinto if you want 2L's. If you want twincams then talk to Artropine and go for the Zetec. Much, much better engine..
Guest Jamezuu
They blow headgaskets too, and they arnt cheap. Had one at work, 1990ish glx was a nice car but the motor blew 2 headgaskets in as many years. Have you measured up? the intake is quite big and its mighty wide. But dont let us stop you, it would still go real fast standard.
