Will_8v
The Hi-Rona needs to become one with the floor. Would like to keep it legal. Double wishbones at the front (looks like 2 of em) and leaves at the back. I assume 50mm blocks and longer U bolts will do the trick there, any idea on what I should be paying? I have been pointed towards snells to get some springs made up for the front, anyone know how much this will cost? Kings only do "lows" for this car not superlows, does custom springs sound the best? Cheers
davidian
do a bit of a search thru the formum bro, this is an old topic custom springs gonna cost you roughly as storeboubht ones. superlows might need you to shorten shocks. 50mm blocks sound good, again any bigger the blocks and you might need to shorten shocks, or just get your leaves re-set. the best way to get pricin is to get the yellow pages out and make some phone calls! RT
My advice is to specify exactly what you want...be really specific. I spent lots of time and money getting my car the right height purely cos the shop kept fuckin me around. If you just say make it as low as possible, chances are they'll throw in some 1/2" lowered coils and say that's it. Tell them you want it 10cm off the ground from the lowest structual point no matter what it takes
davidian
yeah- what he said. and think about is you just want your ride bumping down the road and cruisin or if you wanna race it or what. Those, in combination of what gear you use will determine the prices you pay and the legality of your whip as a result in the end.... if you gotta specific question, ask away.... lowlancer
So snells will make custom springs as low as you want them?
Jerm
i just got mine done by bruce manon a fucking onto it escort guy... and if you question the legality of the way he did it he also does WOFs so it should be all good.... at the back he just put 2 inch blocks... and at the front chopped 3 coils off and took my odl shocks apart did some modification.. he said he welded something on and machined the shaft or some shit and then filled it with thicker oil to make it stiffer... rides pretty good just need some new shocks to go in the back... cost me $400 could have been cheaper but he had to take the springs in and out 4 times to get the right height.. cos its hard to know because the springs are not the same rate all the way down... Will_8v
New gas shocks all round, blocks in the rear and springs in the front, should be about 50mm lower front and back (blocks are in). Getting it done at the shock shop. This will not hit the bump's either, about 30mm clearance off them.
lowlancer
I got my leafs reset 50mm, and I'm bout 30mm from bumpies, but it's not even low really
