  1. I'm coming to the conclusion that I shouldn't listen to @- i5oogt - or @RUNAMUCK. Terrible influences they are. I got shown some pics of a slightly sad looking R30 wagon by Karl whilst picking up another car. I informed it was in @Slacker_Sam.s possession and he was looking to offload it. Rego on hold, Cert for LD28 + 5 speed, 1000k of RCU in credit, and pens in the foot well! To the question "Should we go and get it?" I couldn't say no. To make the trip from Christchurch to Motueka worth while we planed it to coincide with @datto_610 and @NickJ getting Greg's 120YTHEFUCKDIDIBUYTHIS and I towed @RUNAMUCKs Kraut Barge to its demise. @- i5oogt - also had business in Blenheim so a trip to the VCC parts shed there for some barrying was in order (they had a stock of vintage Chev stuff I wanted to raid). Left CHCH at 7am got to Motueka at 6:30Pmish dumped off the Bavarian Money Waster, grabbed some food and boose, and headed out to where this wagon was parked. It was pitch fucking black. Not one of my better ideas to load up in the dark. Whilst loading up by the light of Sam's Newschool car the old Barry whose house it was at offered us a good deal on another sedan shell with an L20ET plus a few LD28s and gearboxes. couldn't say no again so another trip is being planned. With car strapped on and BBQ supplies in the tray we hauled ass over the hill, paused to get the plate number of an old car(whats that plate Baart), to @yoeddynz and Hannah's for a BBQ and to camp out in their shed (Thanks for the hospitality guys). The next morning was the first time I saw it up close in daylight. Karl said "what do you think pf your new skyline Will?" "What the fuck have i gotten myself into?" is all I could think. on the trip home the cars fuel tank came into contact with the trailers winch and ruptured it proving there was diesel in it and it was sealed up until then. We got back to Christchurch just on dark and kicked the R30 off the trailer in Mum's driveway. It was at this point a couple welds on the trailer decided to break. I blame that lard of a Bimmer. 2. Dragged this home yesterday. IMG_20170513_102342 by John Bell, on Flickr Needs a little bit of a birthday, but really is in pretty good shape for its age. It came from some family friends who have had it since the beginning of time so has a bit of a history. I'm new to Land Rover details, but I think its an early Series 3, although the plate inside the cab says 2A. Its been fitted with a Nissan LD28, and has no sign of a cert, but has been issued Warrants in this configuration so I need to figure out if it ever had a declaration and if a copy still exists. The LD28 doesn't exactly fit very well though, and the diff head hits the oil pump, this apparently is a fairly common conversion so I'm curious as to how others have gotten around this. Apparently the original motor didn't have anything wrong with it, and is still available so if it is too difficult to get the LD28 to work (and legal) I may look into this. The tyres are a set of very perished 'oodYear' retreads which I find hilarious, my guess is that GoodYear didn't like you reusing their casings for retreads so they all have the 'G' rubbed off. The wooden deck is solid enough for now, but it might need a bit of attention, I'd love to be able to fit a wellside to it possibly. For now its home back indoors. I've got to sort out a few things before I get into it properly. I'm pretty excited to have a project that you can buy parts for. 6. Long story short I went for a ride in Karl's turbo diesel 260c and wanted one. We stopped past a paddock of rusty cars on the way home from Hanmer where he said there was a diesel 260c just waiting for a turbo. The car cemetery was just down the road from my mum's place so over the next few weekends we dragged out several Cedrics and R30 skylines and moved them to there. Picture time Discuss Here
  7. Hi all, I have bought a LD28 to upgrade from the SD23 in a bedford. The van already has a 5 speed from the sd23, can I use this box and flywheel on the LD28?
  8. Sweet score, RUNAMUCK and myself checked this out the day before you got it. has some sweet potential Build: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/44418-brocky41s-c32-facelift-laurel-hardtop-deeez/#entry1360433
  9. Hi all, i have a c33 laurel which im putting an ld28 in and i want to turbo it, iv read all over the internet that the l20et exhaust manifold works so i sourced one of these and found that the studs dont quite line up, i did a little grinding work to make it fit but now when i try to fit the intake manifold on it cant fit around some parts of the exhaust manifold. i cant seem to find any info on this. Would an l20et intake manifold fit? what else can i do other than getting a custom manifold as i want to keep costs down?
