  1. Right, so as the title suggests I need garage space. I'm bringing Dad's Daimler down to Auckland for the Ellerslie show this weekend, and I need garage space to store/work on it in the not too distant future. Somewhere on the shore would be handy, but I'm open to any offers. Oh also, being a poor student and all that, I would prefer it too be cheap/free of charge (unlikely, but worth a try...). Cheers all, Louis.
  2. It'll be worth it, the guy does real good work Yeah he's real cool. He's always happy that we take heads in from weird old cars haha. And his work is pretty damn quick too
  3. The cylinder head shop in Glenfield. Best place ever.
  4. I guess I could pull the pump off and clean it out. I'll probably cuck an in-line filter in somewhere too. Damn mechanical pump sitting on the back of the engine will be fun though
  5. Only fuel filter it has is inside the fuel pump :/ And no Aaron. No.
  6. The mini has a weird thing where in 4th gear at high speeds it starts to cough and bang and loses all power. I have to back off the gas and let it slow down quite a bit before I can put my foot back down. It does it mostly uphill. So any ideas of what the issue could be? I went to replace the points and condensor, but I was given the wrong points. So it's got a new condensor but old points, so maybe it could be a fault in the points? I just tried doing the static timing again, but it hasn't helped. - I did line it up with a previous timing mark, but just for reference, what should it be for an 1100 Mini engine? For some reason 5deg BTDC comes into my mind? Another thing I thought of was that when it's under load like that air could be getting through one of the carb gaskets? Is that a possibility? Thanks in advance.
  7. I would stay away from minilites, such a cliche wheel for the car (I'm too hipster for popular wheels haha) Don't skimp with the bodywork, it'll be worth every minute you put into it - the pics of mine will go to show that when I put them up!
  8. I cannot commit to anything... /need to decide whether to come as Lincoln or Louis
  9. Bit of a thread dredge... Finally got round to doing this. Decided to stick it on my normal bonnet seeing as its already a tad rusty. Turned out better than expected, the only problem is that it didn't stick on either side of the ridge in the middle. I'll see if I can inject some glue in there at some stage, but for now I'm happy. I'll get pics of it on the car at a later date, but this is how it looks atm: I'll get some waterproofing spray and put it on, just to help keep the bonnet dryish. But for now... Take that haters, it worked!
