  1. Cheers for that, not sure what swarf is but will investigate further.
  2. Its a 88 FWD 1.6 Turbo NZ New, I suspect it has a blown turbo but could requite a few more things to get it running well, he is wanting too get it going but has been given the run around by a few mechanics, we are turning it into a rally car so would like to get it running nice and strong. I am far removed from the Japanese car scene and don't know who to take it too. I remember a member had one on here and was looking for a pointer on where I should recommend he take it. Note the awesome Repco or similar body kit and white wheels, like you I am thinking it will be a very fast car when it it running with these additions.
  3. While we are on the topic of diesel. My mate dangerous Dave runs a couple of liters of petrol through his Hilux every few months, reconds it cleanes her out. Thoughts on this?
  4. BMW NZ (as do most of the other European makers) have the same diesel engine options as offered in the European and Australian markets - as far as I know the diesel BMWs sold new in NZ don't have the old technology engines. That was the case with a model 15 years ago so it must have been an old publication. These days we get mostly the same models. Can not help with vans. Have always had petrol.
  5. So sold the Corolla, needed cash etc.. was not so sad this time, normally get upset when I have to sell something! Funny it went all the way back to the South Island. Next project will be a BMW E30 of some sort, wont be for a while though as my racing in Targa is keeping me very poor, who would have thought putting a car through something so hard would constantly break it!
  6. Cheers. You guys are awesome. Was just wondering if anyone knew of something that would work so I could buy can off it and use it for the next ten years without having to worry. looks like this may be the go. http://www.cycletreads.co.nz/products/2 ... ter_o.aspx
  7. JR racing, where do you buy that? I think its all good as long as you only mist on a small amount,, its only there to collect extra dust so no need to coat it heavy. I have a ITG filter that is foam so it wont make its way through. Amazing how much crap they pick up when you wash them out!
  8. Have just given my filter a wash and was wondering if there is a better and more economical solution to the specific stuff ITG or K&N sell. An aerosol can of something that will last for years would be great!
  9. Votes RB30. Have lined up both and the results were quite surprising, the Auto VL 308 could not pass the 5-Speed RB30 VL. There is science for you. 308's sound beautiful though.
  10. That's nice. Throw it on TM, would sell fast I would think, there is a massive following of Fiats in NZ, sick cunts.
  11. Added a Chanel Z sticker. Got a new WOF, needed a new Tie-Rod end and a wheel alignment, always fail on those when I take a car to a garage, I’m sure it’s a ploy as is drove fine and still feels the same. Removed back seats and laid down a black tarp for the dogs to be transported on. Needs a clean next. Have also been sent a new front lip for it but have not had time to fit it. have been distracted with my new car. Renault Megane RS250 Trophy And the race car that has had a few things done leading up to Targa NZ in a couple of weeks. Fitted this mean FMIC bro, and also removed cats and muff so gonna crank the boost to 30 and see what happens, sounds like a jet now!
  12. They have a massively hot pool that is great for hangovers... they drive may be a bitch though. Still keen for this.
  13. So cool. Its going to be mean with tyres on those wheels and some paint on that lip. A mate had one of these back in the day, I remember the coolest feature was that it had power windows as none of our cars had such amazing luxuries. Subscribed for updates.
  14. Very cool. Have always wondered about the history of these cars.. "Googles Riley"
  15. Have used liquid shoe polish on Black worn BMW seats and they come up quite well, hid all the white cracks. $50 is better than a new dash and a shit load of time swapping it over, I had mine done in my E30 and it looked great, had the steering wheel done to, was $90 all up and looked good when I sold it. I'm not sure what the longevity is like, TBH I have only had work done on cars that don't get a lot of use, are mothered and are always garaged, I could imagen it would wear out if used every day and left in the sun. The main idea is to get it looking good for a fraction of the cost of replacement or effort to replace, I know a lot of car dears use them.
  16. I will bring it to the next meet and you can have a seat in the lush leatherness. If I didn't tell you they were re coloured you would never know, looks the same as OEM and retains the leather new leather smell, I had all of mine redone and had the doors done also. One thing to note though is that if you recolour say black leather with say red, if/when its scratched black will show through, you don't want to go too drastic a change if you plan on using it every day and being rough with it. I chose a lighter shade of grey and had them coloured darker so it wont show if scratched..
  17. I have just had two hides recoloured and they look amazing, I used Fibernew, they also do OMFG repairs on leather cracks and the like. I used the south joker Bruce, he is good bugger and di a great job. It’s not that cheap but cheap, account for $800 to do your full interior. Still a fuck load better than the $2,750 it was going to cost to have mine redone at RVE. http://www.fibrenew.co.nz/
  18. Choice car and I can appreciate what you are trying to do as I am doing the same with my old Toyota, its is easy to get carried away though. Look forward to updates.
  19. I have seen good improvements with a MAP ECU that deletes the AFM and replaces it with a MAP sensor, I know the guys at APT have done a few. http://www.aptnz.com/index.php?option=c ... &Itemid=62 The M bits on a M325i consisted of more than a Kit, they had upgraded suspension and LSD factory.
  20. Looking forward to this, took Toot Toot Timmy for a drive on the weekend and had fun, even if it needs 8,000rpm to get up a slight incline and the tyres operate in daylight savings time, should be a nice cruise. Was thinking this way would be best from Greenlane.. have lead it back to SH1 so people can get home. http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/44003096/
  21. Sounds good to me. If we all meet at Greenlane we can head to Clevedon Via Botany South, then Whitford, would be much smoother and open for our older steeds and cruising past Maraeti is always nice. The deal at Miranda is a pass to the Hot Pools and a feed, the food is great, as good as the Fish & Chips at Kiawa these days, Kiawa fish and chip shop was sold to new owners years ago and the award winning fish and chips went out the door, TBH it’s more a novelty thing these days, Miranda is a BYO deal so if you didn’t want lunch you could bring your own Cookie and wash it down with a beer. As said lots of parking. Good thing about Miranda is that it’s mostly occupied by ugly fat locals and ugly fat tourists meaning it’s not all Aucklander Peter Andree type poser cunts all over the show making you feel even more paster man bobbed than you already are, I know this is concern for some people with Hot Pools and the like, myself included, last time I went to Waiwera I thought I had missed the invite to Jersey Shore dress up day.. In saying that, you would not have to swim if you didn’t want to, could just come in for beer and a laugh, they have in inflatable tarp type bouncy thing you could jump on. Maybe Hamilton people could come up?
  22. Of course, drive to the conditions and stay in mantrol, you don't have to go fast at all to enjoy these roads!
  23. Normally leave from Drury Autobahn, get off at Drury and to head Ponga Road down to Hunua, then head across Jones Road to Ardmore Quary road and then to Clevedon, from Clevedon its out to Kaiawa via the coast, mean drive, I do it at least twice a month just for the hell of it... also Maranda Hotpools are always a nice way to end a weekend.. Cruze home on the highway. Happy to lead a convoy if anyone wants direction, the roads are not too bad for low cars.
  24. Always keen on Kaiaua meet, have done it a million times and never get board of those roads. Date?
  25. + the car park light was out so it was dark.. bit stink that we couldn't see any cars.. darkness does hide the bog nicely though Good to meet a few of you. Chickened out on the "greedy bastard" burger, maybe new month.
