  1. I'm looking at getting some injectors from a 4g93t gsr, they are rated at 390cc. Bearing in mind this is for a 2.0l FE3 N/A so could be high considering a 3sge is running 290cc. Would I be able to tune these using a fuel table and other ECU trickery? (Link G4+ Atom is what I'm looking at)
  2. Is it still 4x110? If it is i have some two piece Volk 2 meshies 13x6
  3. Try FD or FC rx7 calipers as they fit well with the TX3 brake upgrade. I didnt use mine cause i found some princess calipers and couldnt be arsed making the rx7 ones fit. They are a 160mm bolt spacing and are for a 20mm disk if i can remember
  4. I have a set of FD RX7 4pots which are the same as FC just no fins. MAZDA casting machined off cause i was gonna put them on the escort. Also have a set of Gen 2 RX7 rear calipers and disks that i probably wont use anytime soon.
  5. I envy how quick you make progress on your cars sheepers.
  6. Hmm yeah might do, bought a RX7 master just in case and a bias valve
  7. I spent the night looking at S4/5 Rx7 masters and N/A R32 skyline ones as they are 15/16 bore
  8. Heya Cletus i just purchased a bias pedal box for my escort but have recently been told that i am not allowed to use it due to welded pedals. Is there any way i can use it in the escort or am i stuck with a heap of unusable metal? I also have a set of anti tramp rods and panhard rod for my escort, what are to do's and dont's with installing them? I will be going as per the escort rally prep manual.
  9. Might have to trawl through your build thread... A master straight to the fire wall may be the go now. Only to find out what bore would be good with 4pot front and rx7 rear...
  10. Fuck that sucks. Could have saved alot of money. Any way to get around it?
  11. Cheers man! And yes its such i good representation of the style im going for! Its a rallydesign item, it looks to be well made with good welds
  12. The old girls been putting along and the little 1600 Kent moves her very nicely, even made the trip from CHCH to Palmy over the Christmas break without a hitch, I recently had to do the head gasket as it popped and was making massey ferguson noises all over Wellington CBD. Ive also rebuilt the starter motor. Lately ive been acquiring parts for this girl consisting of an Aussie 6cyl diff (Falcon internals), Not one but 2 pre facelift GT/GXL Dashes/Centre consoles, New old stock guards, Grill. I also got a set of NOS Lucas Ranger spotlights in perfect condition, even had the switch to accompany them! Plans for the Tina have Manifested to me wanting to put a 302 Windsor in her with an off the self kit, but for the sort term it will be to fit the GT dash, fit a set of tombstone seats
  13. My money is on 15? Sheeiit cant make it either, back next week for a few weeks though....
  14. Hmm im interested as to how youd mount the fuel pump in the surge tank?
  15. Whats everyones opinion on the walbro or the bosch regarding heat, sound, flow and longevity?
  16. Righto will look at what mods i can do to the sender. Are capri tanks really that bad?
  17. With it being intank i wouldnt need the lift pump or surge tank right? Then just run the return to the tank?
  18. I have a FE3 2.0L and im running a capri tank behind the rear seat. For me to run an intank pump i would have to modify the capri tank abit which i really dont want to do
  19. So time has come for me to splash out on fuelling for the escort. Im thinking of using a either a bosch 044 or a Walbro 255. Whats the general consensus of these pumps in regard to flow and noise? The set up im thinking of using is TANK------>LIFT PUMP------>SURGE TANK------>EFI PUMP----->FUEL RAIL----->FUEL PRESSURE REG----->RETURN LINE. Is it better to run the return line to the tank or the surge tank? Cheers
  20. Yeah man they need to fit snug, be welded well and pass crack and x ray testing
  21. 6) Engine Doort... Everything bolts up nicely and without hassle! The exhaust was originally off an AE86 race car, its a stainless 4-2-1 design with 45mm primaries, 50mm secondaries with a 2.5inch outlet. Only thing i had to get done was the 4AGE flange cut off and a new stainless FE3 flange welded on. The itb manifold is a cut and shut job done by Vern, he had to build up the weld to meet the itb flange i got cut as the original FE3 manifold was never totally round. Ihave some VR4 injectors from KPR that sould do the trick and just need to be mounted. I then decided id do some porting on the intake to smooth out the welds and casting marks. Still a way to go as i now have to sand it by hand as my dremel piece isn't long enough. Plans for 2015 for the engine is to do a full rebuild on it and sort out ignition and management. Im thinking a Link G4+ Atom or a megasquirt (give me pros and cons of both in discussion) and a ford edis module for the spark. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/30700-pures-80-escort-ghia-of-extreme-imperfection/page-6 CHUR BRO'S J-W-G
  22. This thing really tickles my fancy, digging the colour!
  23. 5) Suspension I managed to pick up a full set of brand new Gaz adjustable dampers for the front and rear and managed to treat myself to a new set of coilovers which suited way better to my needs. This was the front set up before welding. Specs are 220lb springs, followed with keeper springs and adapted Cusco Evo strut camber plates. Struts after welding. Vern had to machine out the spring tops to accept the Gaz inserts, then lathe up some spacers to take the camber plates. Further the camber plates had the be redrilled to the Escort "small hole" PCD of 95mm. After a small bit of massaging the bolt holes i got the strut tops in followed by... The TX3 Turbo rotors were a bolt on fit and take up the whole pad of the Princess calipers which is bloody great, also the rotors are a shit ton cheaper then Capri vented ones at $50 for two. The rear ended up looking like this... The spring plates needed a quick weld up and redrill to accept the larger Courier/B1600 U-Bolts. Plans from now. Right now the car is nearly rolling. I just need a set of wheel studs to get it on some wheels so i can move it outside to do some work on it while having a beer and getting a tan. Just waiting on a shipment from the UK with some flash new parts for the front end. For the rear just waiting for the new year to get the leafs reset for a 2inch drop, sand blast and powdercoat (Suggestions?). Stay tuned for what ive been doing to the engine, its getting there but its got some cool stuff to do with itb manifolds and a lush stainless octopus hanging off the side... J-W-G
