  1. vivaspeed, I won't be at this meet man. Any chance I could pick up the lamp from you sometime in the weekend mate?
  2. Goddamn I want a hello kitty numberplate for the Crown.
  3. Heat coat the mani? We put a bunch of heat shields and reflective gold foil on a mates car that helps with heatsoak. I'll be doing this to the MR2 as well.
  4. So finally after about 3 weekends of not getting the time required to work on my own car, we finally got the car lowered and the wheels on in the Crown. Went up to Pick a Part with one of the rear springs as a measuring guide to see what would work for the rear. Scouring the truck and van lines meant that the springs either were too short, or not wide enough. Finally scored a piece of gold in the form of rear springs from an AU coon. Perfect fit. Jammed it in, didn't even need "modification" and it was bang on 100mm and captive! Rolled the car out, and a bunch of big boned mates jumped in the back for a test drive. Rode smooth as silk, but it needs a bit of rebalancing as there is a bit of a shake at 100k. And cos the car is underwheeled and undertired, speedo is out by about 10k. But it looks perfect and is exactly the look I was hoping for. We then waxed and cleaned the whole car, and I got to be OCD and cleaned up all the chrome bits and started polishing the wheels. This picture was when the back was full of wheels and tools, so the rear is lower, but when all the crud was removed, it sits bang on even! So stoked Then popped home, did some more cleaning and whacked on some tire shine just to complete the car and yay, it doesn't look like a sack anymore!
  5. If it doesn't interfere with grading, i'll come for some lulz.
  6. Will be there and hopefully can drag whatpower along too
  7. Yeah that will be my next port of call. Was really hoping (naively) that it would be as simple as swapping the offending sensors. Will be taking to it with a multimeter this weekend. I'm gonna check out the ECU end first before I decide to remove the loom and have a squiz at trying to see if there's anything amiss there.
  8. Yup disconnected the battery and cleared the codes every time. The CEL will clear, but as soon as I rev it/put it under any load, the CEL comes back same codes again. I'm hoping its not a wiring issue, but it most likely is. I will try and exhaust all options before trying to look at another loom...lol
  9. Hey all just an update. I replaced the two sensors with those from a working car but am still getting the cel. I'm starting to wonder if those codes aren't for afm and oxy sensor or if I have a wiring issue. Could someone confirm the codes please? Thanks in advance
  10. Yes it is alloy. Cool I thought I'd check here first for recommendations or something. Cheers for the heads up. Will remove the intercooler sometime this weekend after another shakedown drive.
  11. Messing around with ducting on the MR2 and noticed the interfooler mount tab has broken off Who here could repair it? Can post pics if required
  12. Was on the motorway. I'm afraid I did a less than discreet double take while in the whale haha.
  13. This thing looked awesome. I saw it last weekend on my way into town. Delish!
  14. Hmm the thought has crossed my mind to cut the fronts to go as low as the rears, but if I did that, right now with standard wheels, I wouldn't be able to turn the wheels...lol Read-I need to hurry up and get those 14s on!
  15. That's the plan! But I need some spare rear springs/Falcon ones apparently fit? so I can adjust to suit, as I don't think I want to go as low as the rears I have now go....
  16. Hah did not know it was a sun visor. I shall try and use it from now on. Gonna hopefully get some time in the next 2 weeks to try and suss out the ride height, but may just end up being raked for the Welly meet.
  17. Haha yup, best I managed to get was 100km from a quarter tank....lol. I think sorting out the CEL would help though considering its both AFM and O2 sensor=both ends of the engine....
  18. Wofd and regd=feelsgoodman. Had a sweet weekend off just racking up the mileage on the MR2 and Crown. Couple of issues with the MR2 currently in terms of alignment issues (read sliding too much) and a messy shift linkage. But otherwise, the turbo swap was all successful, and nice fat boostsss now. Will be saving up some coin to nab the last few bits I want to do to it before trying to learn how to tune/blow it up. Also been trying to figure out if w2a would be something I'd like to do..... And also racked a decent amount of ks in the Crown too after I cleaned the inside again! Not the most fuel efficient car, but it should get better once I have fixed the CEL. Also managed to fit the supposed "lowering springs" into the front and rear. The rears were too low/I was scraping tire, and the fronts aren't really that much lower. Fail. So the plan is to get some one ways in the front to bring it down quite a bit as it's looking oh so sad. And the rear springs are too low/insta sticker material, so I will be looking to get some replacement rears to finetune the ride heigh...cough cough... In the mean time, a bit of rake for giggles. Might as well donk that shizz. Picture of the engine bay after another clean. The rocker cover is bugging me, so will be doing something about that soon once I get the other nagging bits sorted out. Might do something about the inlet manifold too as its sad/oxidised. Height comparison fail using super accurate equipment. Fronts Ideally I would like this to be around 1 finger or less. Rears Might as well just fist it... Apart from that, made some other progress in the interior as well. Finally got my rear reading lights working. Another clean and scrub of the inside. I removed the carpets when I washed them. However, this side of the car is annoying me. It seems like paint/cement/cum stain of some kind was spilt previously and is caked on the carpet. Anyone know of how to fix this? Its annoying me as the foot carpets are stained too. And another stain I'm not too fond of in the back. Hoping that a couple of goes with carpet stain remover will cure it. Will also need to rip into the centre dash to get my ac lights working as all work, apart from the vent controls backlight. Anyone know what this thing is? It's been boggling me all day today lol. Pic dump
  19. Oh my I hope you chuck the wheels off the van onto this! What are you gonna do with the wires? I think I'm turning into a crown weirdo too now lol
  20. Ah sweet, so we were kinda on the right track, except for not jacking the car high enough, and undoing the wrong joint....woops. Thanks for the help guys, will post up results tomorrow night when I give it another crack
