  1. exhaust notes can do that as well if the headers are wrong in there length .what you can do is machine a sleeve over the std stub axle like trd japan did that will make it a bit stronger ,but most of the group A sprinters over here just change struts
  2. and did you notice with that crappy raspyy exhaust note that the harmonics are going through your vid camera from the exhaust note
  3. and most likely you are getting stub axle flex ,ra40 struts is what the ae86 race teams used back in the day ,much bigger stub axle with no flex
  4. what struts are you using ,hopefully not the std ae86 stub axles
  5. the set up that lost 10kws had 2 straight though mufflers on ,i try to just keep 1
  6. all straight through and not staggered like your 1
  7. if i was you i would make the exhaust go right to the back of the car and then use a straight through muffler have done heaps of tests where to put muffler the further away the most hp the closest is the least power also tried 1 at the back and tried putting another just before the diff to make it quieter for a 75db day lost another 10kws with extra muffler
  8. if they are side draft carbies check to make sure that the main jet holders havnt screwed them selfs out ,that will make it break down as well
  9. and on your tail shaft doesnt matter if the 1st part is small to the std carrier bearing its what happens later that is your problem .and when the Fseries goes in will make it worse mine is like __.........
  10. you might have to make the air hole bigger aleast 6inch hose going in to your air box
  11. have you got any good pics of your engine bay since you have stood it upright yet
  12. have ran a 3inch over 2 inch with a std motor still made another 10kws with 3inch std altezza is 2.3/4 inch there abouts
  13. dont listen to spencer go to 3 inch for the win you wont look back
  14. the merge tapers down to 2 and a 1/4 then tapers up to 3inch
  15. 1and 3/4 inch primary and i have a spare set that is 1and 7/8 as well 4into 1 doesnt need to be as big like the try Ys are
  16. also longer pipes will smooth out dips and troughs in your dyno graph
  17. and you can see the taper cone from the merge as well
  18. i only use 1 muffler at the back and car passes noise ok .3inch might be 2 big but slip joints will stop exhaust from breaking and flex joint will help with the back of exhaust latest exhaust from last pic ,have changed them with longer from other pic
  19. been reading your build thread ,1 your inlet will need bracing ,i can see that breaking again in the near future ,on your pipes try to use slip joints on your merge collector and then use a flexy joint and 1 straight through muffler right at the back on cams and on the size ,advancing the inlet half a tooth will make cam come in early but also finish early setting up cams try setting them up using lifter rise at tdc ,then take belt off and rotate inlet to exhaust and with dial indicator on no 4 inlet bucket see if you have 2mm of clearence ,thats the easy way just leave exhaust where it is on exhaust theory try 34inches long then use a good merge and then a taper cone out to 3inch on inlet track measure from back of valve to the tip of ran tube aim for 350 to 380mm long on cams that i have tried more lift that you can run with a duration from any where arounf from 256to 263 at 50thou also you need to get the velocity checked no more than max vel .01074''thou
  20. markku keep the straight through muffler as far back as possible if exhaust is coming from rear of car .trouble with side pipes no room under neath and run on the kerbs will rip it off
  21. as the f series diff is off set you should see the tail shaft go straight from the box and then change direction to the diff . from gear box to center carrier its nearly straight and falls away to the diff after this std trailing arms and diff is level
  22. i will take some pics markku of mone from the back to give you an idea
  23. was looking at your front alloy brackets to hold the 4 spot calipers on your front strut .i did this and broke mine and used steel on the lug mounted caliper brackets if they are radial mount calipers and you are using a dog bone they will be fine
