  7. haha definately. i went on stanmore road and spoke to tony butler himself, that dude knows his shit. i walked in and put the compression ring from my exhaust on the bench and he told me what car it was from! btw i parked the esky next to this at uni tonight hehe should have brought my camera. loving those wheels aye, they look awesome with the chrome surrounds and the bullet shaped centers. love the ride height too.
  8. Is this going on now? my muzzy will be here in early july, if i can get it Vinned in time i'd be keen as. supposedly its good for about a 13.4 down the 1/4 pretty keen to test the theory!
  9. bike carbs or suck through supercharger??? seen pics of runamucks setup and it looks fuckin amazing. would be similar price wise, SC = big hole in the hood, Quads would just look wicked. Can't decide plenty of time to think about it though, since i bought the stang theres not alot of money lying around to spend on the a-box for a while till i get the muzzy all sorted
  10. gunna be sorting this out this weekend, got a new bushing from palmside ~$10 and picked up a haynes manual too. gotta pull down the whole rack I want the bushing out of the left hand side so therefore of course i have to start taking things apart at the right hand side to get to it...
  11. Yeah thats what i was thinking dunno how i'd get on witdth ways though either, anglia bay is pretty tight!
  12. Which would make more power on my 2litre zetec do you reckon? suck through SC or R1 bike carbs? Runamucks pictures look awesome! if i could fit that in the anglia it would look pretty darn cool!
  13. does anybody know what goes on inside a mk1 escort steering rack? The bushing in the left end of the rack seems to be a bit poked, the oil is getting out into the rack boot and the rack is sloppy. makes a clonking noise when driving on bumpy road. does anybody know how to get the bushings out? or where i could get a new one? Cheers
  14. fuck i love side draughts! definately roll with the lotus steels they are wicked cool
  15. could be keen aye. im in motosoc and allways lookin for an excuse to take the esky for a strop
  16. haha i figured you were on here somewhere dave but grant didn't know your username
  17. yeah they are made by enkei but basically the same looking wheel. that bulge is a tyre under the car haha but its just what the car is sitting on so the panels don't get damaged while its on edge
  18. yeah i haven't come across any 13x8 hotwires before, 7" is the widest i have seen and they were a reasonable price so i couldn't let them go. just need those darn 16"s to sell now... found a couple of very small rust spots in the front of the car last night, should be easy repairs though. definately on the home stretch for rust repairs now though. That massive hole i cut in the floor is the next challenge though
  19. Alright time for a bit of an update, i've finally managed to get home from uni for a couple of weeks and i have been stuck into the little car. stripped off a bit more underseal im getting pretty sick of stripping that underseal and im pretty confident that i have found all the rust now, i've got the floorpans all stripped and have the arches left to do which is the hard bit. Im kinda thinking i'm just going to give it a good waterblast and then POR15 the floorpans and leave the arches with underseal. i finally managed to get to a point where i could re-attach the rear bumper rail part which i'm stoked about Here is where the bumper mounts come through Check this out for panelcraft! i'm really happy with how that turned out Put the petrol tank in to make sure it still fit as the straps mount to that rail took out the last major bit of rust on the car next, it was above the rear windscreen and came out pretty good I put the car back flat on the ground and then had a look at how it all came out, when i find some bolts i'll trial fit the bumper too. I fitted the new 5 speed up to my zetec and put it on the crossmember on the floor... couldn't help but take this pic then the dog came over for a pose putting the new box on highlighted a bit of an issue, the starter motor fowls on the crossmember so now i have to move the engine up about 15-20mm. picked up the front of the car with my hoist put the fitted-up subframe under the car, looks wicked, i reckon i should rethink the whole project and just make it into a funnycar heres how the floor looked at the start of the night and heres how it looked at the end My new wheels turned up the other day and they look tops! 13x7 for the front which is borderline for an anglia, and then 13x8's for the rear which are seriously borderline. im thinking i might man up and shell out some money to shorten my fairlane diff though and that should help make them fit. anyway for the moment i will have to make do with it looking like this I love those wheels!
  20. i learnt today from my clever race car mechanic why they put one shock in front and one shock behind the diff, its something they started doing in the late 60's. He has a 68 camaro with both in front but the models after that have one in front and one behind, we've got a 68 mustang with both in front and the models after that have one in front one behind. Its to reduce axle tramp, the axle torques up against the two shocks and it takes alot of that rotational movement out of it. Just FYI anyway. wicked project though dude, i always wanted a v8 capri
  21. getting the oil out won't be an issue, the box is sitting on my garage floor at the moment. i'll just tip it out the filler hole if there is no drain. Gotta clean off 40 years of oil and underseal first
