Thoughts on 15" superlights?
-
What are the 4x108 15" rims from? Am thinking my anglia might have to go 15" to fit the brakes I want but I really want to be able to roll widened steels when it is in sedate mode.
-
Is the pedal spongy or do they just have no stopping power? If its the latter then you might need to dress the linings
-
problem was to do with the diameter rather than offset. looks like either the caliper I found will fit (but only just and it doesn't give the best choice of disc) or I will have to go to 15" wheels
-
Yeah for the anglia. I want to put proper race brakes on it one day Wilwood superlites is what I was keen on but the wilwood website says that the radius to the outside of the caliper for the smallest disc (11.75") is 168.9mm. The measurement I have from my 13" rims is 160mm. Might just have to change my plans and go to 15" wheels EDIT: Just discovered these http://www.wilwood.com/Calipers/Caliper ... o=120-8539 measurement is 156.2mm I am going to have to measure my rims more accurately!

Has anybody had experience fitting a set of 4pots and vented discs behind 13" wheels? From the measurements I've taken off my wheels it looks like none of the wilwood calipers will fit my enkei mesh wheels. my measurements might need re-doing however...

Thanks for that testament. I'm building the car as a race car these days so that was great info. I had hoped to set it up with a W2A setup to save space coz the engine bay in the anglia is tiny! Do you think you could keep the water temp under control with a fan on the radiator?
-
Thats exactly the sort of thing I'm wanting to do. Its all pretty tight for space so there is no room for something as big as a standard intercooler. I might look into the subaru one a bit further and see if I can modify it to suit what I want to do
-
I'm thinking about building up a water to air intercooler for my supercharger set up on the cheap. I was thinking of using a heater matrix between the supercharger and the inlet plenum. The ideal heater matrix for the job would be quite small and made of aluminium, does anybody know what car I might find something like this on? I'll put up the rough ideal dimensions (the dimensions of the outlet on the supercharger - Eaton M90) in an hour or so If I can't find an aly one I will just make it so that it is clamped inside the manifold rather than welded. Does anyone have any other ideas for things that would work well?

Sweet bikes! My Cruiser looks identical to that but without the 3 speed hub... Bastard!

I had always pictured this thing with a burt munroe riding position lying over the top of the engine

If the weather is good you can't not roll oldschool to the classic regardless of harshness or lack of stereo! I'm getting back to New Plymouth on Friday now so am toying with the Idea of rolling down Saturday and meeting/getting on the chop with kk and shaz etc -
Weren't the 2.0 litre v4's a terrible engine? I have been wanting to build a mini with a v4 bike engine in it. Like from an aprillia RSV4 ($$$$) or a VFR1200
-
Fuck no! Every other trike you see has a vw engine in it and they just look silly. 302w for the win!

Should probably consult dad before I start a whole project thread for it -

Ok but only coz I love to talk about it Started life as a 95 v6 automagic in silver. was initially going to be a club race car with a 302w and t5 But then we came across the rousch gear and it all went downhill pretty quick. The engine/gearbox/drysump etc is all from an ex-Rousch Fenway Nascar team, the history we have been told is that it was a spare engine that didn't get used much. Apparently the team put it into one of their Nationwide Truck Series pickup trucks and picked up a land speed record at Bonneville. Since then the engine has been altered a bit by us, different cam to bring the rev range back down to earth, lower comp pistons (was 15:1!!! Fuel was going to be insanely expensive) etc. Made 640hp @7500 on skuzzy little street car headers (ours didn't fit around the dyno). Gearbox is a Jericho 4 speed. Diff is a Moser (I think) fully floating 9" dealio converted to a 3 link plus watts 6 pot willwoods front 4 pot rear Maximum motorsports Tubular front K-member and arms bunch of Steeda performance suspension goodies as well. Pretty full on cage blah blah etc etc the fun stuff is two paragraphs that way ^ Its all running now anyway, has been driven and had its wheel alignments and all that jaz done. Just needs a radiator catch can, fuel ring drain hose and sign writing. Will try and hunt out moar photos when I get home z_uGo1ZeAkI -

Oh sweet! My dad and I have been building a mustang for GTRNZ for the last few years. It should be a reasonably competitive GT2 car. We were going to try and get it into whittakers but we just aren't quite ready yet. Planning to run it at the Taupo round end of Jan
