Bronze’s 1963 Ford Galaxie Hardtop
The Bronze replied to The Bronze's topic in Projects and Build Ups
So in the interim I took off the other door panel to discover the quarter vent regulator on that side was fucked too. Rebuild it. Reinstalled and reassembled today. Also took pics and measurements of door panels because eventually they need replace/retrim, and with the panel off I found a nice big hole that'll fit a speaker discretely. Also fish oiled inside the bitch and lubed the locks and mechanisms. It now opens so smoothly i almost forgave it for being a big fuel guzzling money swallowing bitch of a thing. Then I noticed the flapper had flapped it self to shit and was ripping. More pain and money. So, two questions for the audience: 1 - I need to reattach this shaft (pic 1) onto the bottom of this quartervent frame - it's pot metal, and the frame has chromed - so a bit of a welding challenge? Anyone know someone who could do it without melting/destroying the two parts? 2- All these interior windscreen chrome surround bits need a clean up, and rechrome. Is it something I can hit with a dremel, or just send it to an electroplater and it'll come off in the chroming process? Never got stuff chromed before Oh, in other interesting news, I remembered i'd heard that sometimes you can find the buildsheet under the seat, so I had a fiddle, and some very brittle 50 year old paper crumbs fell out, it seems most of it has been lost in the past, and it falls apart when touched, but i did some CSI and got a bit of it together.. Cool, huh? -

Finally got the rebuild carb on, but haven't fired it up. I got the new thermostat, housing and hoses on, then realised i didn't have enough hose clamps for the new radiator hoses, so only the top one is on for now. Oh well. Look at the shiny bits anyway... -

This has been parked up for a while. Decided I need to prioritise and sadly, funds don't stretch to keeping this on the road as well. For sale listing to come. /small tear. -
OLDSCHOOL (Auckland) AT THE MOVIES!!!

If you could get that Snake & Mongoose movie as a repeat screening, that'd be fucking dope. That's why I was asking the Hollywood about a private screening. -

i finally found this place. ^ He's got a shit-tonne of stuff and worth hunting down. I bought stuff I didn't need because I think he needed some business. Get in there you mongrels. -
This is my fave PS Gran Turismo car. Well, maybe in green. None the less, you're pretty much clocking life with this build.

You sir, are a man after my own heart. I failed in my hunt and settled for a 63. I could ratty it up and sell it to you if you want. Actually it's not far off ratty atm.

Interested in a Workshop/Lockup share in Avondale AK?
The Bronze replied to The Bronze's topic in Upper North Island Region
Yeah Hendo is on the radar too, and Portage Road, was planning on doing later on but this has popped up and it's a pretty mint setup. What's a realistic amount people would pay for a car/per week for storage? My figuring is pay a bit more and have some space to work as well. -

Blonde real estate agent. I should snapped some pics this morning so I guess I'm as clever. Is it a runner/roller? -
I'm having wet dreams about this place as an after hours moonlight workshop. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=755882013 Has a pit, previously had a hoist, has a small office. Good location. Good street exposure. Reasonably central. A four way share would be ideal, putting it at about $125pw + gst if you can write some of that off. Could be ideal spot if you're wanting your own small shop, with reduced overheads.

I had to cut that nut you see on the end of that shaft in half to get some clearance on the rest of the carb body. I'm not the first person to do that right? -
Look like Radirs? Whitewalls to match?

Just spent 15 minutes looking at your google map and street viewing the run down to Vegas from Wendover. That is a big empty space, awesome drive. McGill is good for photos.

I sent the throttle body section of my carb off for reconditioning. It has come back looking beyond new. Best present-to-self yet. Bless you Weber Specialties in Silverdale. Hopefully the wahine is picking up a new waterpump today as well. -
