Had a go at building a slam bike too. Started with this. And made it into this. Went on a few tweed rides etc with it good pedal scraping times.

That wasn't loud enough so it got a straight pipe. I also owned this wee fa for a week or so bought it for $100 tried to get it going, couldn't, managed to set it on fire by mistake, then sold it to a sicko with 65 bikes for $200

Theres a few photos of my yamaha v50 in the QCR thread but I though I would add a bit more detail here. This is what is was like when I picked it up for $100 from a guy named Jesus. A week of so later it looked like this. With the help of Chris, Brendon, Luke and Lewis Chopped bars, chopped seat, bobbed, hard tail, painted wheels and engine, new exhaust, new front tyre.

Bubblegoose cam over for another session tonight. Slowly getting a bit more done. Front drip rails have been welded on. Bits around the boot tidied up And around the left tail light. I have started sanding it down and have filed out 6 of the door hinge holes to get the gaps better. Also have got my reset leaves back and its sitting at a better height. Need to sort out a panhard rod next. Should be quite low once the windows, petrol tank, spare wheel, and 5 people are in it! Sorry about the shocking old cell phone photos but we can take some nice ones when its back together.

Im pretty sure they are all the same size 40mm. Get a slightly oversize one and get it bored and honed. Keep that sweet metalflake tank! Most people pine for a metal flake tank like that. Paint the rest of the bike though haha.

New pistons are cheap on ebay. That one looks pretty worn. But if it still runs sweet dont get a new one. Build and expansion chamber if you want it to scream

Yes you should! and get rid of that huge seat!

Look through the wee hole in the plastic oil pump cover. When you twist the throttle you should see the oil pump opening with the throttle movement. Make sure its the right way or you will seize it like i did.

Bubblejews has been helping with some repairs to the drip rails and sort the rust out underneath them. Before Cleaned up. Look how happy he is welding thin datsun steel He brought some new rails he had folded up. Hes doing a top Job. Next on the list is Mint16 is rebuilding my noisey gearbox. Taking the leaves out to get them reset for more low. Installing a panhard rod to get the diff in the centre of the car so we can borrow some wider wheels and get the rear guards to fit perfect BRU! Need to pull my finger out for Nats 2014!

Haven't done anything on this as Iv been spending money on holidays and the Datsun. But I have very slowly been collecting parts. This is what I have to show so far. Havent done any mods as i need to revin it first. A xs650 tank, a small tail light and indicators, and a sweet classic tyre for the rear.

Buy a universal cable kit from budget for $20 and make your own one up so its the perfect length.

Make a plate so the bars sit just above the top of the forks to get rid of the ugly black bit. Bars look sweet!
