  1. My bucket rims were bolted through the rim into the ends of the ”spokes". They were also an interference fit. I had to heat the barrel in the oven for 10 minutes after leaving the centres in the freezer overnight when I was putting them together.
  2. Thats like 6319lbs. No worries mate
  3. They look cool - just ditch the bullet caps in the pdf below because they look naff. http://www.cragarwheel.com/images/medialibrary/Cragar_377.pdf Load rating is 1580 (I assume that is lbs and per wheel) Surely the Buick isn't +6000lb's
  4. You can see the factory Radir wheels were done the same way. (see the join between the band and centre)
  5. Berry Chung used to cast their own centres (as per the pic below) and then bolted them into an outer band. They were sweet from my own experience (my T-bucket had BC wheels, the rears were one piece cast but the fronts were 2 piece) The mould above would be sweet if the spokes were a little thicker at the thin end and concave rather than convex. Who knows how to make a suitable mould from a set of Supreme's?
  6. How hard is it to send a Supreme to Rota and get some cast ones made and chromed...
  7. Oh if you want an excuse then try that you have an uncomfortable attraction to your bosses boss and things might get awkward if you mix in alcohol.
  8. Looking super sweet man. If you want a spacesaver in 5x120 then grab a BMW one. It's not quite 5x120.65 but for the small amount of time you will use it,it will be adequate. I have a 16" spacesaver out of a beamer in the boot of my Commy because the spare wheel well is half full with amplifiers.
  9. Car out of lockup - fueled up and ready for drive. Gunna be good as long as the weather plays ball.
  10. Considered mounting a steering rack on a custom crossmember and slinging it in? Could probably even buy one ready made? In fact a google search came up with this. Looks like a piece of cake for someone of your skills Clint.
  11. What are you going to do with car after its been in the movie? Sell me the interior?
  12. I saw that car for sale and wanted to buy it but forgot. Ha-ha. Sorry I never saw your message but for in future it may help to know that the Police Museum in Dannevirke has a fleet of police cars you could probably use. Www.police museum.co.nz
  13. Perhaps the wrong steering box or at least the wrong pitman arm?
  14. I should probably concentrate harder on acquiring sweet engine parts than I have been. LOL
  15. Sure can fit a lot of bibles in that boot area.
  16. What a decroded piece of crap. I know you'll make it pretty though - or Shonesy won't sleep with you in it. Target - bring to Wagnats next year.
  17. Fully balanced 355 stroker kit from Port City Engines Harrop dual plane carb manifold Voldo roller cam from Shaft Grinders Inc. Yella Terra Roller Rockers Fully ARP'ed Probably $5K in parts unfortunately plus probably a bit for machining. This is the base of it all though - http://www.pcengines.com.au/pce-web/store/viewItem.asp?idProduct=264 Drooled over this for a long time.
  18. If I do what I want to do its probably a year to do. Of course you are right though.
  19. Cool. I'll pick you up from the city and aim to have you back to the airport for 8.30ish
  20. So you need to be at the airport by 8.50? Also aren't you back on the Friday night after anyway? As in the very next day?
  21. Just assessing options at the moment. Going to pull the heads anyway and take a look at the bores, then take a geeze at the bearings and see if I should rebuild or just haul ass. I know how lazy I am and I should really do it right the first time and rebuild the motor but $$$ may not allow that. Will wait till I get the pants off and look at it.
  22. Fucking sweet. Is the plans to resto or restomod or just get it going and leave it looking haggard? (it has a fucking sweet patina by the way)
  23. Also I scored a replacement oil cap after I lost mine at Nats on the side of the road. Cheers to... Joe for bringing the motor door to door from Auckland to Wellington Seedy for the loan of engine crane and bringing it to my lockup tonight Beaver for the loan of an engine stand Kamahl for a free oil cap and picking up a booster for me Chris and Tara for storing my motor in Auckland for a month or two Kicker for selling me the scooter and Steelies for turning up as generic peanut gallery motivation Thanks all - hats off to you
