  1. Size? to suit a ford laser. anyway, have paid for the tyres. Seller's emailed to say he won't give me the address directly (strange?), but if whoever decides to pick them up flicks him a text on Sunday, they can get the address and go pick them up then. it's probably nothing sinister, but I simply don't trust anyone... sprak, stay tuned for a PM/txt with seller's cellphone number
  2. wait, it DOES say "set of four". Meh
  3. wut, I'm sure the auction title said "set of four". bleh, maybe my jap reading skills are down teh turlet
  4. Boe, you know you want these for the 131R/124/Deltron http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n69439488 O.Z Rallyracing 4x98PCD
  5. hai boes, have a favour to ask from anyone located in Palmy (or close to) am needing to arrange pickup and temporary storage of four semi-slick tyres that I've just bought off tardme. Not sure if I'm bowling down that way any time soon but no doubt I'll either find a convenient reason to roadtrip in that direction, or alternately someone else might be heading up to Taupo/Hamiltron from the LNI and won't mind transporting them that far. seller has yet to get back to me so once I know further details I'll post 'em. As per usual routine flick us a PM if you can help out! churs in advance squidward
  6. that's fine, my current place of storage is in Hamilton
  7. lol, probably rules me out then could have been keen otherwise. Current storage place is thinking of upping the weekly rent by a factor of three
  8. semi-neglected sapporo/eterna makes me a sad panda. is that a collection of bird shit on the rear right quarter? one reason I'm always reluctant to sell my cars on, always afraid of how they might end up in the hands of someone less neurotic than I Phil should buy it. also, low-down configuration works a treat on those. they look so much betterer slammed!
  9. If I end up going I'll be rolling down Saturday, should meet up with you Tron bowls on the way thru. dunno if I can be bothered convoying though, I have a tendency to stick to 10km/h over the speed limit so you guys might leave me in the dust after the first set of corners
  10. I guess the smaller tyre shops would be unkeen to give out discounts as freely as hyper would. they also tend to stock more of the passenger/super low quality brands so may not be able to accommodate a request for, say, four T1Rs at short notice. You been to tyre king on Marua Road? They seem decent enough, I bought tyres for AW11 from them. Would have gone there again but hyper were cheaper, and it was on the old man's credit card, he = scrooge as.
  11. got coerced into buying the Yokos. mainly because the hyper tyres guys were all, "Yeah we're going down to Yoko supplier in about 20 mins anyway so it'll be more convenient for us to pick up some A-drives for you. Plus we'll give you a $20 discount." sold.
  12. my brother doesn't actually do any stupid shit like b-owts, it's just the tyres currently on there are about 12 years old and completely unsafe. One of them epically blew out on me at 100km/h a few months back, which was not cool. and since I use the car quite a bit for out of town driving - mainly because I can actually afford to put petrol in it - I've decided not to be toooo stingy with tyre selection
  13. I have to buy new tyres for my brother's car today (185/60/14). amusingly enough the old man told me to go down to hyper tyres. Those Yoko A-drives have a nice looking profile, but I got no idea how good they are in the real world. look to be the same price as TPTs though, which are still my first choice. or I could get LM600s for $14 extra...
  14. not a chevette, but all of my TX3s have had chronic problems with indicator stalks/headlight controls over the years. Simply put the contacts just corrode/break over time and 2nd hand ones aren't guaranteed to last any longer than the one you replaced. what you could do is look for another GM vehicle that uses the same or similar combo switch. again to use my TX3 as an example I replaced it with a Telstar/Capella unit which looked the same (apart from the colour of the writing) but had beefier internals. hopefully there will be something, otherwise just keep buying 2nd hand combination switches until you find one that doesn't conk out after 3 months
  15. you and the rest of the forum I'd wager Nah, KDR30 me up brew ...if it decides to start today!
  16. cheers I like how it's all stock standard with a whisper-quiet exhaust, so you don't actually hear the car before you see it. Doesn't attract as much attention either which is good! from a legal, structural, or "shady cunts following you home" aspect? had the use of dealer plates over the weekend, so was able to drive vehicle to mechanic's/panelbeater's/mission bay etc. Don't have them anymore, so car is now under lock and key. structural issues aren't major according to my mechanic (who drove it himself to see what was wrong) but he wants to have a better look once I'm ready for compliancing. doesn't sound too dire, i.e. a wheel isn't gonna fall off or anything like that. as for shady cunts, I never drive straight home whenever I've been out in the DR30s, same deal with the banana I guess. you and the rest of the forum I'd wager
  17. nah there's definitely still some shit bent under there, car does wobble uncertainly over bumps like my TX3 did when I snapped a balljoint. Haven't had a chance to look as I've been way preoccupied with trying to fix the instrument cluster lights; apparently it could be a dimmer switch, but typically I spent all of today trying everything else first and nothing worked. also on the hunt for a new clock, steering wheel, centre console fascia, and knobs for the original stereo - have noticed there is a familiar looking S3 turbo being wrecked on Trademe with all the bits I need...
  18. I too often gaze in wonderment at the red C110 parked at the Viaduct even parked the squid next to it once (that was an expensive two hours, never again am I pay and displaying there)
  19. that was I moar pics in project thread now. and yeah, is pretty cool to drive, such refined and smooth power delivery. Clutch is a bit jumpy though, and the rear end loves to light up around corners OK my first technickle question: how does I remove the instrument cluster? need to fix the backlighting and get rid of those weird little spotlights that the previous owner fitted. managed to get the shroud off, and two of the screws holding the cluster in, but it won't budge, so there be more and I can't see any?
  20. eheh, off topic slightly - Coronado is a beach/seaside town in California
  21. The private correspondence. kyteler has the mail arrived yet? September 9, sending the reply. . . Perhaps, this is not able to receive mail?
  22. be my guest your flickr collection is tops btw, always had a soft spot for the UFO-style HBSN2 (it was gonna be my fallback if I couldn't find a SA22C) Got no engine bay pics currently, it was difficult enough to persuade my agent to take those photos of the exterior and interior. Dealing with Japanese can be hard at times, they like to do everything their own way and to a set procedure...
  23. I is too nub, would need some guidance obviously. was also planning to get the lips machined/chromed, but I guess that can be masked off/done afterwards by someone competent. the gunmetal I'm after is the same colour as my friend's Prodrive GC-06Ds.
  24. The watties need repainting, and I keep getting ripoff quotes from painters who take one look at me, see a "rich asian" and make up ultra-exorbitant prices on the spot. ($1200 to clean and spray four rim centres gunmetal? Get fucked.)
  25. Probably, but I have fuckall money left over for rims now, and Mk IIIs go for uber crazy money. not too fussed, if these end up looking fugly as then I might just roll the watties, or ewings... or my brother's FWD offset 14x6 Cheviot turbofins 4lulz Some dick designer thought that making the RX-7 FWD offset was a grand idea.
