  1. the way me and chris looked at it bart, the last time we went there we left at 10am. by the time we got there, had a burn round the track, lunch, then another burn and the trip back, it was like 530pm by the time we got to chch. if we leave earleir we can take our time with things. and maybe find a sweet road up there to drive. this way we have the whole day to enjoy, and not get back to chch too late
  2. most of the testing stations are kinda harsh. but i would go to jipco road VTNZ. whatever you do, if they fail you on something, just politely take it and ask them the best way to sort it out. show interest in doing it properly and you shouldnt have a problem
  3. maybe. depends how long we take for lunch, cruise around the surrounding road etc
  4. cheers to all the boys who managed to make it out today. was good to meet a couple more faces, and have a good chat. look forward to the next one

  7. always keen for paintball, but cant do last sat of october as that is th NZDatsun nationals weekend, so busy with that
  8. i wont be attending cause i dont have a gay car. in all seriousness, please bare in mind this cruise has nothing to do with oldschool itself. its just a cruise for OLD SCHOOL cars thought about going, but when something like this is put up on tardbook then it can only encourage the cops to pitch up and make the most of the situation. would rather stick to the club organised events, that way, no muppets get involved
  9. yeah guys, if you are interested in the meet location, hit me up with a pm and ill let you know where it is
  10. sweet guys. next sunday at my lock up. how does 3pm sound? bring along some sausages and a couple brews and we can have some yarns with each other
  11. screw them, if they complain, then they should be out there doing it. my car ran a best of a 16.7 and i can tell you that while it is a slow time, but it felt fucking fast
  12. boso zuast, and subway ring will be sweet.
  13. so a meagre for all that can be bothered to follow this. i took the week off work as i CBF with work at the moment, and i needed to get some work done on the laurel. so with a week off of work i had big plans to get the engine swapped over in the laurel, take it for a wof and hopefully get it on the road for me to enjoy. come monday morning it took me 2 days to finally get motivated to get some work done. pulled the motor and box out after about 3 hours. today i went about refitting the motor back into the car. i had to swap the turbos over as well as the engine mounts and loom. in the process of doing this, i remembered i had to refit the oil pump, dizzy and dizzy drive. low and behold, when i pulled it out, i forgot to setup the timing after a bit of work i reset it with the hope of it being in the correct position. tomorrow i will continue fitting the turbo, then it will be ready to go back in the hole. once in, it will just need to be plumbed, wired up and have the gearbox fitted along with the driveshaft. unfortunately i dont have any pics, but everyone knows what an empty engine bay looks like. what i can say is that thank fuck i took the engine out to swap the turbo than do it in the car. will keep you boes posted on progress as it happens
  14. no worrys man, but i wont be in my bluebird, will be in my work truck. and matt, come on, ill take what i can get

  17. we will keep to the 630 time line, easier to do that than change the time again and confuse everyone
  18. we will just get the friday one out of the way, then go onto the sunday meets. it will be better on the sundays IMO as there is more time to have them, and will be more laid back. theres no point not doing the friday one coming up, as there will be a good number who can make it. and lets keep it civil guys
  19. how about 630? give people time to get there, and that way more peeps can make it. these generally only last an hour, so it wont be a massive amount of time out of your night. ill get a bbq setup for the following month at my workshop, then we can have it at a more friendly time for everyone. hows that sound?
  20. basically if the public have access to the area then the cops can enforce any road laws they want. thats how they can set speed limits on the beaches etc. so in essence they can fine you for speeding, loss of traction etc for havign a burn on the track, which IMO is utter bull crap
  21. This statutory definition covers places to which the public have access - whether of right or not. For an example, read the definition of 'road' in the Land Transport Act 1998 (on the Public Access to Legislation Project website). Take particular note of paragraph (d) and the words 'A place to which the public have access, whether as of right or not'. Another feature, not seen often overseas, is the specific inclusion of a beach as a road. This allows local authorities to set speed limits on beaches, and also allows the New Zealand Police to enforce traffic laws, such as registration requirements, that apply to the on-road use of motor vehicles. The definition aims to ensure that the public are protected from the misuse of motor vehicles, even in areas where we would not ordinarily expect to find motor vehicles. It is important to note that the definition does not give a right of access to any area covered by it, but rather ensures that the Act, and others like it, applies regardless of any public rights of access and use. Because of the wide scope of the definition, the courts have developed a number of principles that they apply when considering whether a place is a road. These include that: 'public' means the public in general, and not just a section of the public it is not enough that the place is physically open to the public - they must be shown to be actually using it.
  22. ill make some enquiries this week when i get some time. hopefully we can have a burn on there without being targeted by mr plod
