  2. i was originally going to do a turbo L28 but after no luck with engines around chch, i gave up and thought it would be easier to fit a rb series engine. might have been a bit of a mistake but oh well
  3. as far as in know you cant use a rb20 head without massive modification. im not worried or bothered with the stock loom, ecu etc as i cut it out when i took the motor. will be running aftermarket ecu and custom loom
  4. this is what confuses me as in my mind a twin came head has better flow etc, has more scope for after market parts etc, but why go though the trouble of a head conversion when i just throw a snail on and be done with it. might pay just to look around and speak to people who have done both sides of this.
  5. its going into a c31 laurel which isnt the lightest of cars and its main use would be daily driver. not really in need of huge power, as i just want a fun car with about 200hp. i am heading towards a big snail but would love to see and here a rb30 reving like nothing with triple carbs or itb's. its all just talk at the mo as i need to pay off all my shiny tools and new bike
  6. i have a rb30 waiting to be rebuilt for my laurel. i will be keeping it single cam to be sort of different but im not to sure what i should do performance wise. i would really like to build a decent turbo set up to keep my speed addiction going, but i love the old skool side of things with 3 big dirty side draft carbs and low massive exhaust headers, or even maybe independent throttle bodies. i know either way i go its gonna cost me money, so im not really worried about that. the main thing is i wanna know the pros and cons of each so i can make a more detailed choice when it comes time to get it done. i will be using it on the road regularly but not to bothered about a bit of lag or having to rev to get anywhere, and it will maybe used for some trackdays, but mainly just for me to enjoy driving it. any help or ideas would be mint, cheers

  10. i dont think i can manage to make this one guys. having trouble getting time off work and cant for the life of me , figure out what is wrong with my bluebird. dont wanna try driving it that far as it will more than likely shit itself halfway there

  16. how can it be lean. nothing has changed from it running mint to its current symptoms. I drove it in the pouring rain and then it wouldnt runb properly. me and dan completely blew the carb out today and I have run it with my thumb over the two vacuum ports on the inlet manifold. What else can be done to see if its lean. As I say, a cuple of boxes tlo the cunt that gets it running. I hope it aint a fucken head gasket. I will try to make it on the datto cruise on monday, but I am at the border of my knowledge. I dont know what the fuck else it could be i dont think its a head gasket, just the inlet/ exhaust gasket. will have a go at mine tomorrow and if all goes well will come give you a hand. pm me your cell number and address and if i have time i will get hold of you

  18. i had the exact same problem with my L20b in my bluebird. i changed everthing on the bitch and still ran like a bag of arse.i suspect that my one had a vacuum leak as there was exhaust soot on the head where a game was between the manifold and head. i sprayed some petrol while running and it ran better for a few seconds. i suggest you throw a new gasket on it and smother it in rtv and seal it uo good and proper. i have a manual for a 910 bluebird with a l20b in it. i could lend it to you this weekend and maybe giv you a hand at getting it going. if you do get it going you can come on the datsun cruise on monday
  19. i would go circle track or maces engineering. do a bit of stuff for work and they do a real good job
  20. look for the group of guys sitting in the corner far away from anyone else, with oil stained hands and clothes, making hand gestures as though they are working on thier cars. also listen out for random model, engine and chassis numbers as well as funny car noises
