  1. I have many random things I can include in a secret Santa. Add my name to any lists related to present giving. And then remind me on the day please
  2. Ok. It's as we thought. The only proper way to do it is with fuel pressure and ECUs etc to have a true fail safe. Not really a simple way to do it right.
  3. Yeah we were thinking that. We were just going to protect through electrical failure. To protect against a mechanical fault in the pump we would need some from flow switch in the fuel system
  4. Thought I had this cracked but relays don't work like I thought. Basically we have Intank lift pump External high flow feed pump What we want to do is have each pump triggered by a relay obviously. BUT If the lift pump stops working for whatever reason we want the feed pump to cut out so it doesn't run dry. I have the lift pump relay setup and working as per normal. However I tried to be tricky and run the lift pumps earth wire to the second relay as the switching voltage for the feed pump so if it cuts out it'll stop the feed pump. Anyways apparently that doesn't work and Google has info on every kind of setup except what I want. I've been thinking about this too long now and I feel the answer is really simple but I just can't see it.
  5. We won't be here for the 23rd. No biggie if everyone is good with the week before xmas
  6. What style of line? braided teflon or rubber?
  7. Need to get down to horopito to scope out parts cars. But time is poor right now. Failing that I can source what I need from Russia. Next years problem. House and holiday is top of priority list. But she will be straighten out, fixed and more slam.
  8. In saying that, check with your local tuners. They may be sweet with the older stuff,
  9. It's good info for all. I'm no expert but we do deal with ECUs and tuning at work on occasion and these are some basic points I know. Plug and play is simple and easy but because it plugs into a stock loom you don't always get the extra inputs and outputs of a wire in ECU. A tunable ECU is good to support modifications obviously but what's the point if you can't have it tuned to maximise the potential of your upgrades or can only get it kinda right through limited knowledge and road tuning. (yes, Some can get a pretty decent tune on the road,) If you know your way around the engine and its components then a wire in is not that hard. You're going with a common enough engine that any issues should be resolved with a quick google. The upside to a wire in is that if you change your engine (this is your third ? ) you can keep the ECU and just buy another loom or your old one may work if the wires are still long enough to reuse.
  10. Old, outdated etc. We get a few Rx7s coming through work with them and there's pretty much the one guy who will tune them modern ECUS just have so much more ability and support. Im sure there is a bunch of people who will argue road tune - do it yourself - all you need is this - MS this and that etc etc etc but for me, the support, features, accessibility to well respected tuners who know their way around Links and high level tuning will win out.
  11. Tuners are getting less likely to tune these is what ive heard, Go Link tbh.
  12. Mate... There I was today thinking, sweet I've got some direction when I pop into a wreckers when I can, boom! ST215 Caldina comes in to work this arvo. Matched up perfectly. Good Ol oldschool knowledge base.
  13. Seat Useless switches Bike engine Massive steels Love it all. Keep it up!
  14. Oh yeah was going to post a full photo. Probably not X7 as they are bolt to hub type. Will post a full pic and measurements when I get back to work
  15. They are probably JIC supplied. (The other plate is gold like the rest of the unit) And I need the model of car not brand haha. Chur
  16. Heres a wee game for you all. I brought some coilovers advertised as ST202 celica. They aren't. That's not the problem though. I need to know what car these fit so I can acquire the right strut tower PCD. JIC suspension appears to have no identification marks on them either so that's no help. It's an odd pattern, with 2 studs inline with the camber adjustment and one forward. Anybody recognise them? Thanks.
  17. So sweet. Mine was rusted to bits in those rear sections too. I'll see if I have any spare parts still floating about for one.
