    cunty old engines

One of you rangi cunts will probably hook up the windscreen washer bottle and leave it on full squirt down the carby Cheers,Chris
  2. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 770498.htm That one of them?? Cheers,Chris
  3. Radiator has already been pushed forward, and widened, and yes no more latch... Currently has some rather wide Ford Engine mount rubbers inplace, they are somewhat wider, and alot stiffer. But still the same thread When you say mid gearbox mount, did you just bolt right through the floor with say 10mm plate to ontop or what?? Also another question, the 1600 5spd Box , will that bolt up to the 2.0 litre SOHC, Seeing as they are reputidly the same block I think they should, which also means that the 2.0 Conversion would be the same as a 1600??? You seem to be in the know, just making sure, that also the Gemini Diff will bolt straight up?? Cheers,Chris
  4. Btw, you triumph owners, check the plungers ontop of your carbies, (plastic nut), unscrew that , and then put it back in, just as you are about to reach thread level you should have about 1-2mm of Resistance. From oil. If you dont , put some in, you'd be surprised how much better they run once its fixed.. Use a really light oil, I think some people may even Use Trans Fluid?? Cheers,Chris
  5. You may not like the sound of this, but have you thought about looking for a late 70's - 80's car's front guards that have a decent arch , with a "flare" look to them. Such as a commodore or similar, and cutting the arch/flare part out and welding that in over top?? Would have to be correct diameter and such , but still Cheers,Chris
  6. White walls are awesome, the Hub Caps are gay Cheers,Chris
  7. Some one needs some Mini hub caps?? I think the olds have a box of mini bits tucked away in the garage, they'd charge you for them though no doubt... Pretty sure they were mint condition.. Will try to find out more Cheers,Chris
  8. 9" Falcon or 8" Mustang, Arent that hard to come by are they?? But then again its not getting them, its shortening thats stings you... Cheers,Chris
  9. I think putting a Vauxhall Viva Front end is quite a common conversion... Steelies for the win - Must have Chrome Trim rings though and hub caps What plans have you got for it? Cheers,Chris
  10. I think *think* think the twin cams and turbo's only.. Pretty Sure the last three derby cars were not... Cheers,Chris
  11. Hey man , looks quite nice and tastefully done (some might not agree about the powerhouse ) Only thing I personally dont like is the exhausts... Just a small thing though, the rest is really nice indeed. I know of another MK1 Wagon In Chch, that is currently being Restored, brown/biege colour.. Really tidy. They are quite cool and somewhat rather rare cars indeed Cheers,Chris
  12. Yea, but Im a bit worried that it wont fit up as well/easily, also I then may have to Pump out rear guards to get skinny tires to fit Cheers,Chris
  13. Yes the Wagon (and the Piazza for that matter) are that far gone ... The Piazza looks like a Open Wheeler - got Sandwiched between two HQ holdens.... and the Gemini has a Saggier ass than your Grandma So you reckon my Idea for the diff would work (using piazza diff) ? Am in two minds as to which diff to use: The gemini - minimal modification needed - run same wheels & offset The Piazza - better shocks & brakes - but more work... Cheers,Chris
  14. Im a believer in doing things the quickest and most simple way (nah not really , just justifying my next bit.. ) Seeing as I should get the gemini complete, how about if i just cut right through the floorpan and then use the "exsisting mount" still connected to the gemini diff, and cut and shut that onto the Chevette.... Sounds like a plan to me Cheers,Chris
  15. Which diff are you talking about ? What about if I just use the Chevette shocks on the Gemini or Piazza Diff?? I only have a Hatch, the Gemini is a Wagon , and the Piazza, well you all know what that is.. Also getting another Chevette for free Cheers,Chris
  16. Ok guys , been doing a fair bit of research... The Gemini diff by the sounds of things will bolt in , and is the Same measurements as the standard Chevette one (abeit a bit stronger). The Piazza Diff is slightly wider, but should Bolt up as well... Also the Gemini Engine should bolt into the Chevettes engine bay, with the gemini mounts being used.... So my Only problem is the Gearbox mounts and Driveshaft.. Can Anyone Either Confirm or Deny any this for me?? Brakes are sorted from what I have already been told.. Cheers,Chris
  17. I thought you (or was it someone else??) were after a Z18 flywheel? Cheers,Chris
  18. Doh , Me = Just Took 244 Gle Wagon to Simms this morning , probably garden mulch sized pieces now Cheers,Chris
  19. Yea maybe, but the last one I had was a real Screamer - it really liked to rev its wee tits off In saying that , I'd prefer the 1600 over it, as its got more power, and I wouldnt mind better almost the same/less weight, as that wee 1256cc is one wide Cast Block.. Cheers,Chris Theres also the Piazza Engine (SOHC Injected), but its auto and CBF with Computers and the gearbox
  20. Hey, sorry didnt have time to rip the engine/gearbox outta my Brothers old Z18e Auto to check the flywheel for you... But *but* Currently on Trademe, He is selling the Complete Manual Conversion (Chch) from the other Silvia http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 226868.htm All else fails you could probably con him to get it out for you... Cheers,Chris
  21. Hey guys I have just aquired a Vauxhall Chevette Hatch , and I intend on Using it for Rallycross/Autocross/Gymkhana... Most likely going to put the 1256cc & gearbox back in.. Anyway I have a few questions Im sure some of you will know the answers too.. I'd quite like to Put Either Isuzu Piazza or Holden Gemini front brakes at least on it... (Vented rotors as opposed to solid) - Is there anything major involved in that? As I have never done it before Also how hard is it to transplant the Gemini 1600 engine and possibly gearbox into the Chevette? As Im pretty sure I can get mates Complete Gemini Wagon Derby car ... (Gemini & Chevette Wagons share floorpans? thus the question...) Cheers,Chris Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated...
  22. If the weather is good, yeap That is unless you plan on entering it.... If I were you, I'd come on Sunday, almost always a Better day than the Saturday (more cars, burnout comp, and the grass kahna) Cheers,Chris
  23. Hmm I thought I posted that up there, with my post, infact I remeber copying the link.... Cheers,Chris
  24. Yeap , Rangiora is getting better and better, and the cars are stunning, had some cars last year imported from the states.... Chip Foose did one I think??? Burnout Comps were mint, Jason Fleck in his Holden Ute, with his 383 Race engine.... pwnt all - Standing ontop of that Cargo Container = Think your flying with all the cloud smoke Cheers,Chris
  25. Yea go with the pinstriping, Light Orange or Pink stz If you did put the Side chrome back on , you could have the Pin striping around it...... Rat Rod stz Cheers,Chris
