Grab a carb off a 21R Cressida/other non U 21R K33N. Anyone got one plz? Meant to be picking up a rusty RX60 this weekend (was meant to be last weekend but the guy went out of town) so should have the carb off that for you. That'd be awesome as bowl, Lub you long time etc. Yeah I have only heard of R powered Hiluxs coming from the factory with 18/20/22R's but that's on US forums Yeah, Chassis tag says 18R... And bit of the wirings all scruffy looking from being moved from RH side dizzy to LH.

EGR is blocked off also. Tried to move the thing around the section today, was a cunt to start, only got it going with millions of pumps of gas pedal, and then ran questionably..

So the hilux is giving me a few/lots running issues. At first it was just hesitant to idle well once it had warmed up and (I assume) come off the auto choke thing. It would rev up, die, rev up, die, getting worse and worse till it stalled. And more recently it has decided to stop going completely at times, or just gradually (or on occasions instantly) loose power, and eventually become undriveable. When it does this it'll fire up, and die nearly instantly. If you are lucky it will backfire, and come right for a while. Or if it doesn't do it itself, you can swap a few leads round and make it backfire. This bit sounds like blocked/blocking jets right? The backfire through the carb loosening up whatever garbage? And when it is running, just doing the hunting rpm thing, I have noticed that with the air filter off, if you half cover/restrict the carb, it'll smooth right out and idle will pick up, no missing, like new. Could this be due to air leak on manifold/carb? The carb is a terrible looking Thing covered in vacuum hoses and shite, which I'd like to remove from the picture, as I am unsure what function most of them serve and whether they work. Some vacuum hoses look questionable, I have just begun to plug the useless looking ones with shitty hoses (in vain). I'm not a master of much so any help is appreciated. I doubt I'd be having these problems with a simpler carb, so even if anyone knows which will work that'd also be choice... Cheers..

Yeah. A meaner carb would be twomeke. Just need to work out what works/get an adapter. Also. Had the potential to burn to the ground this afternoon. Everything doused in oil and fuel + insecure battery = OH FUCK Don't think I've ever opened bonnet and flailed arms so fast before, That is NOT happening again. Had to repair minimal wiring. Still sucked balls though. So yes.. There are some tidying up issues to address still. Might go over the accessory wiring a bit harder too cause its a bit of a mess in places..

Now don't fucking bid. Also Brumby's have low pressure electric pump... So might do that if tardme pump falls through/is wrong.

So I've been trawling the interblag for pictures. Have stumbled across a few I think I'd like it to end up a bit like these two. But more yellow. And with more spotlights. I'm not sure what my front bumpers off either. Have not seen others with one like it.

So I went to see about getting the old brown bench rebuilt and was offered a replacement seat out of a later hilux for a fraction of the price. Looks a little out of place, kinda like the deck, but is in pretty sweeeet condition, so it'll do for now. Old benchy New! Also, I think one of the oil leaks is from the fuelpump. So tracking down a new one of those. And will maybe next pay week will purchase a large whippy aerial.

Ok. So far its still all working out goood. One problem, just minor So it looks like I need a longer board. It is possible to ride up, but a bit sketchy with that angle.... And one or four random pictures. I'm also looking for opinions on where I should be mounting aerials. I think I will only have one at this stage, maybe two if I pick up a CB. And sometime in the future I think I'll put two more spotlights on the bumper. So aerial on the centre of rollbar? Or one either side?

Also, Theres a 2wd one thats been parking outside the highschool lately, same colour, original deck, mags, mildslam, saw the guy today and pursued him Me = OHHAI! Him = OMGHAI2U It was awesome. Also also, its got a 21R-U, as opposed to the 18R dictated on the Chassis tag. Has some kind of 4-1 Extractors and a kind of shiney airfilter. Not running 100% right now, runs on a bit, and doesn't idle so well when set low, surging and stalling and the like. Will have to look into tuneup starting points..

As promised. A few more daylight pictures now that the forums back up. Theres one or two things I will have to tidy up, but all in all I'm really happy, its awesome. First things, tidy up the one or two (seriously) bubbles of rust, get an aerial for the stereo (big FUCK OFF whippy one?), get another LH mirror, stop oil leaks, some kind of tuneup... Yeah. Am pretty gutted about its rustyness. Am going to 'gift' it to my parents farm for a while and park it up until I can afford to do it properly, even If I tackle it myself (once I get all that free time and money you know.....or at least a workshop). Also TGB, This was a 'rust free' one when I got it in.. '05 I think. Was my first car and we flew to Queenstown and drove it home at 80km/h half expecting it to destroy itself. But yeah. In short, I think its not a matter of if its rusty with these, its just when. Thinking that bringing it up here to our climate just sped up its demise a whole lot. Don't know what Subaru were smoking when it came to the rustproofing process. Cunts. Have decided (probably a bad decision but meh) this may be where my future lies. But yeah..
