  1. Its still LEAKING! I checked it tonight after a good solid days rain and the drivers side floor mat was soaked. Fuck it. I will run the hose over it on sat morning with heater vent covered and sealed to take it out of the equation and see if its getting through the windscreen seal but I fear its still sneaking in around the heater box somewhere and somehow.
  2. Good idea keeping the old engine for sure. Do you know the rough size of a VQ if it were a box?..... (just thinking about V6 Vivas....)
  3. I can grow a wicked beard but it now comes out tortishell colours. Too much grey and ginger. I might stick with a Geoffman from Byker Grove..... I had one once. For like 1 hour. Hannah would not talk to me and all I remember was a group of youngs girls at the pub giggling and saying Geoffman...
  4. Remember people from south Island- we should all drive in convoy and attend nats dressed in period clothes to suit the year of our car. Oh dear- that'll be Laura and Zac wearing shoulder pads and big hair then...
  5. Oh and if my car were a morris minor then I found its doppleganger.
  6. sweet. I can picture what you mean but yeah a photo would be cool. Chuck it here. If I cruise along and let go of the steering wheel it the car will stay straight but when there are ridgelines and undulations it'll pull. But no bumpsteer feeling at the wheel. Too much toe out? I still think it self steers at the rear axle due to soft bushes and am currently doing my best to source cheap bushes- cause I'm cheap.
  7. Going to install a new, hopefully far better dfi ignition setup soon. Started on it yesterday but lots of little sandflies were hanging about for a meal and it was about to start raining. Looked at all my careful wiring, going over it in my head, thinking 'fuck it, I'm gonna have to undo the lot and re-tape it'. But actually I think I might get away leaving the loom in the bay apart from the coil end. Thats where I'll have to try doing a neater job for the new ignitors and coils. I'm thinking about a little open ended alloy box to hide them from view and promote airflow. For now while it rains this morning I shall sit with coffee and check out other build threads
  8. That 240 with the Vq sounds wicked. surely to get similar power from a L series you would end up with something a bit stressed and not so refined?
  9. Yeah I used to do that but tricky when chassis is in the way on this car so string cant go right across.
  10. They are feeling better but I think I need to seriously re-check my alignment too. I had toed out the front and I reckon may have gone to far. Gonna make a big measuring tool as seen in latest practical classics magazine.
  11. Yep that sounds good (but how short and fat that car looks- not a touch on the looks of an early Z car) I like the sound of a nice straight 6 but most RB's about sound like tractors unless revved hard. I love the sound of V6's. My brothers old 2.8 colonge V6 sounded awesome and even Dads old V6 Vitara induction sound is wicked when driven hard.
  12. The V6 will sound much nicer than a rb26
  13. Great cars them- nicer shape than Holdens of that era I think.
  14. I accelerated hard the other day to overtake a scooter and saw 4500rpm! It was so fast I had to pull over and have a little nap.
  15. poor little mini.. Must be feeling lonely..
  16. I had to do the same thing to my old triumph sender- it had sat without much fuel in tank and corroded the resistor. Worked a treat afterwards.
  17. I like to start in 1st gear and then head straight for 5th. And the clutch is for holding the in place car on a hill intersection eh?.. Now wheres my wurthers?..
  18. Its getting better as the little injection knobs wear down. I cant believe they are still there- fuck I must drive like a granny.
  19. Looks so sweet. The rear end on these cars are perfect! Looks like SI put on top weather for your trip too?..
  20. You sure it was an HB? I remember a HC 2 door for sale on trade me for ages with 2.3 and twin side drafts etc. Yeah them engines well thirsty and not smooth revvers- but so torquey.
  21. Ha ha- memories!!! Gizza kiwi. ha. Cool as but I'm gonna make something even older me thinks.
  22. That Imp is cool! And cheap. I didn't see the MGs- where were they?
