NZ's  CO2 supply came form there, but medical and industrial

Also Kapuni plant, they cut production way back while doing upgrades to the plant but should be back in full production by now.

Did he know they're available as a flange fitting ?

Yes we both knew and also know from experience that the cheap ones that fit these manifolds* are garbage most of the time.

I've have had several split on my own bike, so for just a few hours tinkering we can run a decent silicone straight joiner and avoid the issue.

*The mount holes aren't in line with the centre of the port, Mikuni genuine fittings and most other decent 26mm I've seen are for flanges that are on centre.

What's the go with coregas these days? Looks like the swap bottles are out of stock everywhere.

Can I just take my coregas bottle to BOC and get it refilled?

    No, boc won't touch them.

Strange that a big place like CHCH doesn't have any in stock anywhere while there's 4 places here in Gisborne with them ready to go including 2 places with the E size cylinders.

Yeah but they've been building crazy Prius motors in Thailand for ages so you should just give up.

Not sure that they would need to be hardened. The probably act as a 'fuse' and stop further damage.

    Good point tbh.

These ones sure don't seem much harder than a firm cheese, so hopefully I can make something today out of what's in my scrap bin.

  6. Been tinkering with the lathe making odds and ends just for practice, managed to single point thread a bolt etc too.

    Couple gear knobs

Was making a plug for a Honda intake hose tonight, was going well, had it all to dimension and went to part it off.

    BANG

Had to use a cheater bar on the chuck key to loosen it to get it free.
The 2 threaded parts that hold the compound on decided they didn't want to be threaded anymore :(

Can buy them from the states, but US$8 each then $65 for slow shipping means it's a good time to attempt making new ones and also get rid of the SAE thread while I'm at it!
Thinking high carbon steel so they can be hardened would be the go?

  7. I've had a Kenwood in my van for a couple years now, can't remember the model off the top of my head but it was one of their upper range ones.

For the most part it's been great, 2 things let it down for me though, 1 is the fact it isn't sealed properly so there's a lot of dust inside the screen that you can't get out (Google it, seems to be a fairly common Kenwood issue)

2nd one isn't a big thing, but when playing back from USB random mode absolutely sucks so you keep hearing the same 10 songs.
