I've owned two, old mans owned about the same. Brother even used to roll in one. None have ever blown a headgasket, and all flew though warrants. Awesome cars, are strong engine& drivetrain wise. One of the most solid cars exterior wise aswell. Easy to work on, drive nice for a four speed. 3k is far to much, i'd pay 2k easy for a mint one however Nothing major to look out for when buying one, just the basics.

Whoa, i fully havn't posted in here yet Thanks boe, I <3 that colour too. About a weeks worth of farting around with colours. Quality brand of paint helps too However I'd love to see this thing gloss black, with a slight pearl. I might have a play with shades at work monday if it's quiet. A slight dash of silver would look nice too, it highlights angles and contours. Also, Have you considered a full Chevette conversion?? Motor,body,chassis,trim,interior......Everything. Even the tourists are doing it

Well this is new project, 1979 Vauxhall chevette Sedan. Also seen in such threads as "Mikuni's 1979 Chevette Sedan": http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=9774 Appears to have had four owners so far.It's also one of only a handfull of "GL" chevettes,Featuring the highest output 1256 in it's class...... Body is in a pretty rough state, and it's going to be staying like that for awhile/ till i'm sick of it. Sussing out whitewall flappers at the moment, along with more period styling mods.
